I would just like to say that the crowd were fantastic and apart from one or two individuals around us there was no negativity hurled at Jan .
This was our first match this season and have to admit he got it wrong !
442 was needed ?
I also add that the team on the whole played a massive part in his departure as they at times let themselves and we fans down!
So onwards and upwards with whoever we get as our next manager 😁

Glimpses of good football, very defensive tactics, no goal threat, rigid formation with no plan b, subs made too late again, massive lack of confidence, too concerned with trying to nullify opposition tactics rather than let them worry about us, I could go on. For clarity, I said he should be given until International break but it is what it is. We move on. The fans were great, considering. And yes, the players do need to shoulder some responsibility but we will see what the next chapter brings.

I also said 10 games before decision as I hoped that clearing out the rotten apples in the side might change the picture and also seeing players like Hogg sign a new contract. However I changed my tune after seeing what I have in the first few games. He needed to go. I sympathise with him but it’s the right decision. Big couple of weeks for Phil. Great opportunity for him to impress the fans

Agree most of fans were great. There were a couple of idiots sitting behind us who pounced on every mistake vocally, loudly and with some foul language, but overall fans reacted fairly to the good and bad of last night.

After last night he just had to go. The most shocking thing was that the scoreline flattered us, 1-4 would have been a fair reflection of play.
Incedentalltly, if we can use VAR to confirm goals, why can't we also use it to expose cheating bastards like Mitrovic?

I actually thought that was our best performance of the season.
Did well pressing Fulham and retrieving possession in the final third but lack any sort of idea when we attack, other than kick it out wide and swing in a cross...to nobody usually.
Fulham were quality, especially second half, fancy them to make a quick return to the premier league.
We are going to struggle. Can't score and confidence is nil. Lack strength, physically and mentally.

Thought we started off ok. First 20 minutes or so we looked the better side. But pretty steady decline after that as Fulham got their act together.
We improved again just by taking Bacuna off as hed become a complete liability by that stage. Every once in a while you see a player who literally cannot do a single thing right. Can't control it, pass it, tackle.. anything. And of course he capped a horrendous display with that inch perfect cross onto the Fulham strikers head!
Glad JSs gone. Best thing for us and him. We don;t actually have a bad squad. Weve got plenty of crap but the bulk of the squad is actually pretty good at Championship level... or should be, and there were no signs whatsoever that JS was going to get a song out of them. It was a crazy gamble that didn;t pay off at all.
At least its so early. Get the right man in and theres no reason why this group of players can't have a successful season.

I was sat in the upper tier so no idea what was said. But Dean Whitehead came out of the dugout and had a quiet word. The bloke sheepishly walked off.

Was surprised when it was given. Didn;t look over the line at all from middle of Kilner. Apparently is was over by about half a centimetre... or a cock hair to use the correct terminology.

Ok I stand corrected, but TV evidence is enough to confirm that Mitrovic deliberately tried to get an opponent sent off and he should get a 3 match ban for that.

At least hed been caught in the face so had something to make a meal of. While that was going on, Chalabah was rolling about pretending to be hurt after losing the ball and leaving his team mates to defend the resulting attack. Id like to think the likes of Hogg, Hudson, Whitehead had a not so quiet word in his ear afterwards!

I doubt anything would happen even if the ref had seen exactly what happened. There WAS glancing contact from VLPs hand, sure it was a total over reaction, but it tends to only go punished when there is no contact at all...ie for feigning an injury/contact occurred at all, rather than simply reacting melodramatically to a slight contact. To be fair that the lino and ref don’t give us a free kick when a player has both arms wrapped round our player and dragging him back by his shirt is the bigger surprise from that incident.

Vaguely recall thinking it looked like a foul on him.

He wanted a foul, which was why he rolled about pretending to be hurt, but wasn't anything like one.

Bang on - zero threat and cutting edge. Unbelievable header by Grant tonight for the goal. 21mm over the line...and our only goal from open play in 4 matches, including 3 games at home.
Jan wasn’t the right man for the job - young guy who I am sure tried his best, but not the man for the job.
I know we talk about maintaining a philosophy of play, but for me it now needs a shake up. I’d bring in Hughton - steady the ship, have respect from players and has a history of playing 2 up front in this league.
If I was the new manager, play 2 CMs instead of 3 as although I prefer 3 given the personnel and all so similar, 2 holding mids is sufficient. Play two attacking wide men and two strikers (or one up and one just off ala Pritchard for harder matches).
Elphick is woeful - not just the mistakes, he makes others nervous and Schindler constantly covering him. Not a better CB pairing in league than Schindler & Kongolo and natural left and right cbs, so has to be. Stankovic a very able stand in too...what message does it send out to guys like him Elphick coming in and playing ahead of him.
I know some people dislike Flo so will never see it, but he was very good last night and will be just fine in this league. With Schindler inside him instead of Elphick, he will be much better too. People blaming him for second goal last night...he was stuck between two players...not his fault...the right sided CB or a CM should have come across and covered the inside space to stop the shot. Basics of football which again speaks volumes of Jan’s deficiencies.
Grabara been a positive, 3 good CBs and a good young CB in waiting, Flo decent enough, 2 from 4 decent CMs depending on form, loads of wingers, again two of those on form and then 4 strikers which are decent at this level, and with good service will score goals. Grant and Mounie with good service could be very good.
Left Back the big problem - if I was new manager I’d demand to sign a free agent LB whatever it takes.
Squad has some quality - needs organised, lifted, clear direction and playing style and a manager who has enough clout to have difficult conversations with the board. Hughton fits the bill.
Fingers crossed for the right appointment.

Elphick is utter shite. Has been every minute of every match. Slow, ball watching and is full of errors. What is most surprising is that, for a burly lad, he is so fucking timid. I hope Schindler knocked him out after the match. Whoever the new manager is, and it has to be Hughton for me, has to hammer the whole squad on day one for their lack of professionalism. If it were me taking over I’d be saying you saw a scapegoat for your shit performances and got him sacked. That doesn’t change the fact it was you fuckers who let him, the club and the fans down very badly. Anyone who thinks that will happen with me will very quickly disappear. Schindler, Hogg and hopefully some of the others who think they are earning their obscene wages might get the message. Big difference between can’t and won’t. We need a manager who can quickly decide which applies to each and every squad member. The season starts now...

Which is most harsh imo I agree with you to say he is shite just sums up his knowledge of the game. as at qpr last night the back four were solid overall but a crazy thing by baccuna which imsure he regrets led to the first goal and the second was brilliantly taken.

Otterman you talk about scapegoating then single out Elphick. Which is most harsh imo I could, if I could be bothered, detail the shortcomings of every player, but Elphick is, in my view, and by quite a margin, the single worst defender and player in the squad - utterly shocking. Looking at his posture, his ambling about aimlessly and his expressionless face is depressing.

I'm sure Bacuna regrets it . BUT I don't think it's a coincidence it's the same player that scored a 40 yard own goal . This kid has talent to burn but he needs to be coached to concentrate on the basics .. In short he needs more Bacuna and less Juninho
