I think he'll go
Grabara Flo Elphick Schindler Kongolo Hogg O'Brien Kachunga Pritchard VLP Grant
I'd have Mbenza over Kachunga but otherwise we're not exactly inundated with options.

—————-Grabara
———Schindler Stanko Kongo——
Flo — Hogg Chalobah Bacuna ——VLP
—————-Prichard ————-
—————-Grant———
This for me is probably our best XI at the club currently, pretty much all of them in their best position imo.
I’d qualify my comment by saying I’ve not seen much or any of the likes of brown, bockhorn, O’Brien the other striker.
Prichard for me is only worth bothering with if he’s played at 10 AND he’s got runners ahead of him.
Flo is a liability but less exposed at Rwb. He’s only barely better defensively than vlp who loves to pick it up from deep and run with it -very effectively too. If he can give it to Prichard or Grant when he gets up field he could be effective again.
I’m hopeful Bacuna would get forward ahead of Prichard in a midfield 3. A player who could defo offer more going forward.
Just something different that could give us a chance of at least getting more men forward whilst maintaining some solidity with chalobah and Hogg in front of the 3 cbs.

Are we likely to see Campbell? Wonder if Hudson knows him from Cardiff, not sure if they were there at same time. Surely he should have kept himself fit and ready.
I'm expecting a lot tonight, hope im not disappointed. Will be far from easy at Cardiff. Worrying thing is if we lose the table starts to look pretty depressing.
4231, back to possession based and pressing with some clever wing play and overlapping.
Good luck Hudson!

When Hudson stood in after Wagner quit he made 5 changes to the team that drew at Cardiff, dropping Flo, Zanka, Durm, Mounie and Pritchard

Grabara Hadergjonaj, Elphick, Schindler, Kongolo Hogg Bacuna, O'Brien Pritchard Grant, Mounie Surely Bacuna can't start again? It would send a bad message to the rest of the squad that performances don't matter. He's been well below his best and required subbing off early every game so far. O'Brien and Chalobah are ahead of him for now IMO.

He seems to lack speed of thought.

Such a crucial game. We outplayed them in both games last season, although you could argue that Warnock allowed us the initiative. I'm not sure he'll be quite as willing to use the same strategy this time around as the Cardiff crowd will quickly get on their backs if so.
So, I'd welcome it if Hudson sets us up with the intent that Cardiff has no choice but to allow us the initiative, I like the 3-5-2 shape but with a more aggressive 3-3-2-2 look about it, i.e. flooding the centre of midfield with attack-minded players:
---------------------Grabara-----------------
-------Schindler-----Stankovic-------Kongolo-
Hadergjonaj------------Hogg-----------------VLP
---------------Pritchard-----Kachunga-----------
----------------Grant-------Campbell-----------
Subs: Schofield, Bockhorn, Elphick, Chaloba, Bacuna, O'Brien, Diakhaby
That's 6 attacking players with Hogg hopefully serving as the main spring and zing both in attack and defence, which would still make it partially 7 attacking players.
This formation would have Warnock scratching his head, which would be ideal just at that time where he'll be looking for a vigorous response from his team after their 3-0 drubbing at Reading on Sunday.

I can see us going back to a 4231 for starters.
We need players familiar with the style, so I think it could be a case of the longest service may win you the nod initially.
Grabba Hadj Schinds Stanks King Hogg Obrien (will have played 4231 alot in u23s) Kacha Pritch RVLP Grant

I don't think it will be just Warnock scratching his head at that Probably not, initially. Allowing other teams the initiative certainly doesn't work in this division either (not with the players we've got anyhow). I think we should be looking at using 6 or 7 attack-minded players in nearly every game in this division. Difficult to realise and will depend on the confidence of the players, but I think a combination of possession football, coupled with a busy, forward-thinking midfield (with quick link-up play) would be ideal. Against the better teams in the division, we'd have to cut back a little and deploy more defensive players (maybe revert to the 4-2-3-1 with two holding midfielders, for example). I just hate the idea of having just one system. Much prefer players and shapes to be adapted to whoever we're laking.

Arguably been our best performer so far in the 1st 4 games.

Unaware Leigh Bromby is also on Huddy's coaching team.
Hudson(37), Whitehead(37), Bromby(39).
Youthful but bags of experience in their playing careers which I hope the players respect and get behind.

I'll be watching on the red button with beer in hand tonight.
4231
Grabara
Kongolo Elphick Shindler Hadergjonaj
Hogg Chalobah
RVLP Pritchard Diakhaby
Grant
Fully expecting a marked improvement from every player tonight. RVLP needs to make a statement to show he deserves his place but if he starts showboating at 0-0 or if we're losing I will kick my tv in. We need a proper workmanlike performance tonight, show the fans they mean business, no stupid mistakes leading to goals, press as a team in the right areas & fight for every loose ball like their lives depended on it. Time to get this season up & running The team are good enough to compete against any team in this division, it's time to show it.

The current squad in my opinion can only be lined up this way to get everyone playing in there best positions.
-----------------GRABARA--------------
----ELPHICK----SCHINDLER-----KONGOLO---
--------CHALOBAH-------HOGG-----------
---DIAKHABY---PRITCHARD---VAN LA PARRA--
----------MBENZA---GRANT-------------
You can play the press using that formation but you also have the ability to rotate in spells diaks vlp and mbenza.
