I've never been in a DatM clique before, I'm so proud. It’s a first for me too.. enjoy. That's a double clique, smacks of commonality, so I'm out.

Wagner's legacy. A bunch of players that have no idea how to score goals, or don't have the ability to be creative. Bravo Dave. Bravo.

Mole, I really don't understand what you've got against Wagner, where we are now is absolutely nothing to do with him. Anyway I'm sure you'll be delighted to know Schalke are losing 0-3 at home to Bayern! The ONLY thing I have against Wagner is that he couldn't improve the way we play in the opposition penalty area, and as a result of that we NEVER scored enough goals under him. It's not a personal vendetta, it's not a grudge, it's a view. Unfortuantely, scoring goals is a key part of being a succesful football team. If you don't thing us being in the championship, with a team that he largely built, has anything to do with him, then you are tapped.

Schindler pulled a header wider Pritchard should have pulled the trigger when through VLP pulled back for a very good pen shout Chances were there but reading looked more clinical when they got a chance I think 4231 is the right system personally. We’ve built a squad for it, so it’s round pegs in round holes for now and don’t forget Liverpool play the same way and no one says there style is dull

That's what he has left us with, players devoid of the ability, confidence and instinct to score. Unfortunately the club are persisiting with the ethos of how we played under DW, and that is why we are not moving forward. Time for a complete rethink.

Need to completely rip up the playbook and get someone (and their team) in to start from scratch.

Dean Hoyle - "Wagner had the final say on transfers" How convenient, well he would say that wouldn't he, when they've all been mistakes. I'd personally split the blame between the one who scouted and recommended them, and the one who wrote the cheques, as he ultimately employed these people who were clearly out of their depth in the first place. A shocking lack of due diligence when buying players by all parties, and just way too easy to shift all the blame to Wagner.

Reading hit the bar, Grabba pulled off a fine save and they scored two goals. We don't create enough clear cut opportunities. Cardiff had more in both halves on Wednesday than we have all season. I can't see this changing anytime soon either. We last scored two goals in a game against West Ham I believe, that was 13 games ago, although we did manage to score 3! (Still lost). I have just done some tallying up and I make it twice in 56 games that we've managed to score more than once in a game.

Have you got any credible evidence to back that up, rather than the fact that you don't want a bad word said about DW? Anyway, the signings aside, Wagner didn't get any of the players, or any of the teams he put out here scoring goals regularly - did he? I suppose we could always blame it on the lass that's scrubs the bogs down at Canalside.

But pinning the blame on DW is crazy, he wasn't the one scouting & recommending these players, or more importantly writing the cheques. You can't blame the manager in this scenario. You're an intelligent bloke, surely you can see this? Agreed we never scored many goals, but so what, he got us promoted to the PL and despite being dumped with players of the quality of Mounié and Depoitre as our attack force, managed to keep us up a season in the PL. I'd say he's a genius, not someone we should be blaming for where we are now.

You're claiming that Wagner had no involvement in the signings and he's not to blame, yet I've just read an article where he himself claims to be putting names forward for players he'd like to bring in. Dean Hoyle says Wagner had the final say on the signings, so, Wagner is suggesting players, and accepting players, but hang on a minute, Mr Boatface off of the internet says that's not true so it can't be, despite their being no credible evidence to back that notion up. Right.

Right. Maybe the answer is very simple? Wagner requested the players we signed last summer, Dean sanctioned these signings & they just didn’t come off. It happens. Every club make poor signings, look at ManU with Sanchez. We came good with Schindler, Lowe, Hogg, Mooy & a whole heap more. Mbenza & Diakhaby just haven’t worked out although there were signs from Diakhaby yesterday. Unfortunately, we as a club can’t afford to make poor million pound signings.

Think wagner was a good judge of player when he had knowledge of them (see his first summer), but either that knowledge was exhausted or he took more of a backseat once promoted. because although he signed off on them, most didnt seem linked to him

Like many other Town fans who witnessed yet another defeat yesterday the strategy used in the first half was a big improvement on performances seen so far. However, our build up is laborious and so predictable. Everyone knows we will advance down the wings, seldom if ever through the middle and if the cross ever gets to Grant he is on his own. Compare this with every team we have played so far this season when three or four players are in the box with crosses that are dangerous in the main. A root and branch reform is called for which requires a change in tactics, a clear out of underperforming players and a clear out at board level if we are to stave off relegation again this season. Everyone saw what was wrong last season and it is exactly the same this. Yet another wasted close season and window. Unless we start to have a greater attacking presence and the ability to score, the crowds will evaporate. Town fans compared to many are very patient but our patience has almost run out as it is painful watching at the moment.

For the pressing game I’d consider pushing Hogg up simply to press and hopefully create mistakes. Relying on the ‘wingers’ and Pritchard fails as IMO they lack mouse and the skills.

The Wanger hate on here is amazing. What that guy did for the club, the run we went on, the promotion, surviving in the premier league, amazing memories that will last a lifetime. Jesus get a grip. Yesterday was a huge improvement, we looked balanced, people were committed people did their jobs well, we solved the centre back/Elphic question hopefully for good and we found a left back that can do the job. The press was great and we stifled them until 70 when we completely blew up and the otherwise excellent chalobah was probably at fault but look to have completely gone. We created two maybe three clear chances and should have scored (overplay by Pritchard, grant should have drawn the defender a bit more and left diak to score, and diaks first touch for his chance set up by grant was poor). the haters can say what they want that was much much better. VLP imo was very good as well, he'd be first on my team sheet every time.

He's not trying to shift blame in the slightest, the manager has the final say. Like I've said before, if they wanted a convenient scapegoat for that summer they'd have gone with Rebbe who the fans had already decided to blame despite him not being at the club long enough to have much of a say. Personally I think Wagner had mostly very good judgement when it came to signing players in every area of the pitch aside from the final third. It's natural to be stronger in some areas and weaker in others, he'd hardly be alone in that amongst coaches. Kachunga in the Championship was the only one you'd say really had consistent end product and even then, I think we signed him intending to use him up front rather than on the wing. Probably safe to assume that Quaner was one he identified and I'm sure I remember Dean saying that Diakhaby was his number one target, though we'll likely never know the full context of that. Interesting that Wagner was a forward who worked hard but rarely scored. Maybe his teams were always likely to be in a similar mould?

Dean Hoyle said a couple of weeks ago that Wagner had the final say on signings, it's on the podcast that TTC Matt does with Kosi, and Neil. It's true, because it exists in the real world, go and find the podcast and have a listen. And yes, we are still trying to play in the style that Wagner brought to us, with by and large the squad that he assembled. Have you ever heard the saying "If you keep doing the same things, you'll keep getting the same results"? It's only my opinion you know, it may be right, it may be wrong. I know one thing for sure though, any fan of this club that thinks we didn't have an issue scoring goals under Wagner, is an idiot.
