Afternoon peeps Can anyone anywhere give me on ounce of positivity the club is going in at all?
It's so depressive at the moment I need something to look forward to.
If potless appoints a rowett carvahal or parkinson that will be the final nail in the coffin for us this season.

Yes the training ground and I’m being serious here
Long term it will enable us to attract quality loan players - 5 of them - which is half a team. All the big clubs get the best young players so loans can get us a better calibre of players than punting in the (lower league/ foreign) transfer market in the hope of finding good uns
You then supplement that with some older heads, maybe the odd one from our academy and we should long term be able to be competitive in the championship (18th ish) without risking the clubs future tied to big player contracts
This season ... I have no real positives right now I’m afraid

None Phil and winter have absolutely killed the club. We all know he will end oup appointing the wrong man. Knowing Phil we will end up with Chris Coleman who took Sunderland down

The 1 positive, if it is taken, is that the chairman has the chance to come out and admit that things need to change. If the last few months of told us one thing it is that we are in a mess. If PH acknowledges this we can then move forward. That would be a positive.

We have a cracking goalkeeper and his parent club will be pleased that he’s getting lots of practice.

The news on the training ground was just the granting of the planning application, that was submitted months ago - unless I’m mistaken?
I’ve planning permission too on some land but doesn’t mean I’ll be building any time soon. I only need to have started building, (or putting in the foundations within the next ten years) for permission not to lapse.

We are where we are and deserve to be. However, every single game this season could have turned out differently. When you are down on your luck and confidence, little things don't run for you. Not going to pretend we have been good, but gifted Derby a goal then Lawrence had his one good game per 10 that he has through his career. Still should have got a point. Within 10mins of winning at QPR. Gifted Fulham a goal and then a moment of quality beats us late on. Cardiff last minute deflection. Reading better side for 65mins. Luton again the little things and 50-50 decisions, but did enough for a point overall. All its and buts and means nowt in the grand scheme but it's not like we are being steamrollered and nor should we be. New Head Coach to come in. Grind out a couple of results, gain confidence and we will be fine. Easier said than done though.

The positive I can find is that if the club manages to appoint a quality, experienced manager he should be able to guide this squad to comfortable safety. Problem is we know who will be making the decisions and they have absolutely zero credibility after recent recruitment. I fully expect they’ll fuck it up and we’ll end up with someone unsuitable.
I like the idea of Cowley but it would be a risk and an alien situation for him to be put into, I’m not sure at this point in time it would be a good idea, it would have been a good punt in the summer but it’s going to take an experienced character to parachute into this mess and sort it out. I’d like Adkins but he’s clearly picky and may not fancy it or have made demands the board won’t meet.
At this stage imo we need a proper experienced manager and character not a punt, that’s the situation the club has put itself in by hiring and then sticking with Siewert.

I’m so angry i haven’t slept for 2 nights.
A club like ours getting to the Premier League is a massive opportunity. But the opportunity isn’t the time in the Premier League, that’s to be enjoyed for what it is, a bit of time in the sun.
The real opportunity are the 2 seasons after. Can you build a proper team, can you keep all the fans on board, are you twice the club you were when you got promoted? We are making a mess and no better in any front from what i can see.

Traffic is easier to get home after games
The empty white seats will look better than empty red ones on TV
We have only lost every game we have lost by a goal
Hodgkinson can start his road to recovery by making a good appointment
It’s a new month

Exactly - communication with the fans was the essence of DH tenure - it put to bed rumours etc. With the lack of communuication today (bearing in mind where we are in the league & the last minute moves of Mooy & VLP) rumours will spread like wildfire and are easily beleived because of the performances on the pitch. Something stinks and for me it goes all the way back to Wagner's shock exit (he was going to leave but was persuaded to stay then not) LOng serving fans can smell bullshit when they smell & hear it and we've had quite a bit of it to stomach over the last 40 years

Town are not getting battered.
There have been players who have put in decent performances, despite the seemingly low confidence in the squad.
There are some decent players in the squad, albeit there are positions where we are weak.
The sun comes up in the morning.

And this is it. I said when we went up even if we got battered every game, I wouldn't mind as getting to the prem would set the club up for the next 10 years. Yet we're in just as bad a position as before we got promoted now, if not worse.

Results one point off being as bad as they could be. Yadda yadda yadda, cue the bleatings.
We have talent in the squad; had a good window for those out.
What needs to be fixed may be clear to PH. He might sort it
This 'potless' tag may be pretty petty childish stuff. We are in transition and the guy might be a smart cookie We don't really know yet.
Sometimes you have to hang in there and keep the faith. Surely it can only get better!
