It could be a huge day today. New manager in? The lack of any substantial rumours makes me feel that nothing is particularly imminent.
Also, it's the European transfer deadline day. As we saw with VLP, these things can be done very quickly when needed. Will we see more departures? I'll be happy it we reach the morning with Mounie, Kongolo and Schindler still at the club. Unfortunately, I can see a scenario where two of them leave, since Kongolo moved to CB we have had Elphick on the bench and Stankovic & Edmonds-Green not in the squad.
'CB is an area we have lots of cover so when an offer came in for Terrance we decided to let him move on'.
'We brought Frazier in over the summer as big Steve Mounie was looking to leave. When a Turkish club offered us £12 to take him on loan for the season whilst offering to pay half his wages we bit their hand off'.

Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t get the impression we are ready to announce a manager.
I would be surprised if we don’t see more departures before today’s deadline.

I've no idea why anyone thinks it's a good idea for Steve Mounie to still be at this club. It's dead it's over

Mounie might not want to be here and he might have stormed off straight down the tunnel at the final whistle, but he didn’t shirk anything and put at least as much effort in as any of the other fuckers.

No announcement on manager until tomorrow at the earliest I reckon. I think the club will be trying to shift one or two more players to europe, that they'll say don't want to be here etc. Then there's a semi fresh slate for new man to work on.
Although I think PH has been naive with some comments he's made, there's so much criticism on here - maybe unjust. Now quite a few players have gone, early January should bring us 3 or 4 good players to go straight into the first team. The impending managerial appointment and his actions in the next 2 windows I think are the things to judge him on.

If you were a possible manager would you, not only say what you would do with the team but enquire about who might might go today?
We are all in a difficult situation but things might get clearer tonight.

Are we now going to be a club which overpays in January after years of claiming there's no value in that transfer window?

Mounie is awful. One of the problems of our legacy and I would be delighted to see him leave
Has to be one of worst footballers I have ever seen.
He can't even head a ball now. I coach under 9s who have better technical skills (comparatively speaking) than this joker.
He may be a nice fella but is a poor footballer

We have to utilise the squad we have, at least till January. We could not shift the players for the big money in Summer and revamp and we are left here and now. Question is can any new manager get much more from this squad now? At some point the players who may have believed they were leaving must switch on to the fact they have to improve greatly if they still see themselves moving onwards and hopefully upwards?
Personally don't see a problem with mounie playing a part if he switched on and was playing mainly for a move, Grant scoring a shit load before X Mas and us having to fend off advances.
First and foremost we require enough points before the window to have all options open to us?

Hope he does and we can claw back a bit of the money we've wasted on him. Will give the new manager more to play with in January or next summer to bring someone in whos actually worth having.

Mounié - can someone please confirm for me? I was told by someone at the match on Saturday that when the subs came on at half-time to do exercises or whatever, Mounié simply sat down on the turf. Really?!!

We need to be in a position where we can attract some decent players if the plan is to strengthen in January. Lower mid to bottom end of Championship we are only likely to attract second string dross.

We could not shift him and others in summer, not playing well for us or not playing at all will not make a reasonable move (for us) happen. At some point he and others will get over the self pity and have to play for a move because sitting it out in the stand or on the bench or even in the team helps nobody.? New manager to get that across big time?

Dunno. Im clinging to the very plausible possibility that PH and DH lost all faith with those sourcing our players and wisely decided not to give them anymore money to waste. If I was them, I wouldn;t have given them any more and would have waited for the new DOF to arrive.
