My only major concern is that his last 3 jobs have seen a relatively mediocre outcome and him being dismissed. He didn’t get dismissed from Hull, in fact dragged them out of trouble last season, which we need. Not my first choice but could do a lot worse. |

Steady hand on the tiller ... will get us sufficiently organised to avoid relegation this season with a gradual decline the following season, ending in his sacking when we slip into the bottom 3. Then we start this process once again.

I swear by the almighty i cannot name a Championship manager....i just go watch the odd Town game these days. Not watched a football match bar Town on at least a year. In fact i cant even name 12 teams who are in the Championship. At one time i could have recalled the league position of every team and named all the refs on the league list. I genuinely cannot name a single referee in world football....not one. Not sure who is on the manager list and don't care. All i know is a dont want Adkins. |

I had a tenner on Adkins at 16/1 when it became obvious Lee Bowyer wasn't coming to Town, so I'd be happy to see Nigel appointed this week.
The burning question for me.... is he bringing David Mirfin as part of the coaching staff!?!?!

I'm not arguing whether he's the right man or not, but you seem to be questioning his background, i.e. not having experience as an outfield player. Haven't you suggested that you could do a job as a manager in the professional game if given a chance? Fair point...but i am a genius Goalkeepers who became good managers is not only a short list...it is non-existent. Nuno has done well at wolves. |

To be honest he might be the best of a bad bunch available right now. He surely has enough nouse to get us playing at a level required to get enough points to stay up.
Bring him in on a 12 month rolling contract let him stabilise us and then we can look for our new Wagner next May.
Wolf sounds good to me but conditions are not right for him at the moment.

I can't believe people are screwing their faces up at a bloke that's won four promotions, took SCUNTHORPE UNITED to the Championship twice and kept them up the second time! He then took Southampton up twice in two years and was only sacked when they brought Pochettino in. Yeah, he had average spells at Sheffield United and Reading but he went to Hull, kept them up and then had them mid-table last year. They were sad to see him go but he turned down a new contract, he wasn't sacked. He's the man for the job in my eyes and a good appointment if we can get him.
