Stoke have spaffed another load of money on compensation. On another manager unproven at their level. Bravo. Should have appointed somebody with a track record of making a team solid and keeping them up. Boring but true. I agree BUT you could have said that about us in 2015

Remember Iain Dunn’s winner that stuck in the stanchion. Night game, packed out with Stoke in open end, think they were top and Town struggling. Was part of the opening sequence to a fanzine programme called Standing Room Only, a few years before Fantasy Football League became popular. Happy times. If they resurrected that fanzine programme, would it be called safe standing room only? Sadly, it would probably more likely be The Sitting Room. Safe Standing Room Only would represent progress wouldn’t it, but we’d still long for the good old days.

Shame for Northern Ireland. I've enjoyed following their journey under O'Neill. I hope for his sake he can make a go of it (not at Towns expense though!).

I think its a good appointment, even though Stoke are in the deep sh*t ATM with 3 points for a win , in 3 games they could be looking up again, its November with 30 games left, Not April with 6....

What evidence have you got for it being true?

There were people, and I was swaying to that side, that thought getting somebody ugly in after Siewert just to keep us up was the thing to do.

The manager-merry-go-round is as much a doing the same thing. Clubs in this league need to get an advantage, you need to be looking forward. There was no way we could have stayed up after Wagner left. Allardyce, the King of the "uglies", admitted as much.

The Cowleys and O'Neill are gambles, guess both our last ones failed, although they paid a million quid to secure theirs. Strange that they'd do the same again. It's not an option to go down another level is it, for them or us. For me somebody like Pulis would make them solid if not spectacular, and keep them up. Almost guaranteed, in my mind anyway.

Just on the coach home. A very promising start A bloody long while since we scored four
Talking of old game anyone remember the the cup tie in the 70s think it was 3 3 at ours 0 0 at Leeds Road ant 1 0 to us at OT. I think there was over 30000 at the third game. Went to all those. Miss the odd second replay thing !
Can’t believe PNE are looking so good

I still can't believe how we managed to chuck away a 3-1 lead in your place but there you go. Such a shame the FA Cup doesn't have the same magic now that it had back then. Nowadays the first teamers just get a day off. Good win today Chadders, I think you're up and running now.

Technical quality wasnt grear or apparently so compared to what we've signed since but their attitude and work rate was top notch.

In 50 minutes Town had put as many past Gordon Banks as all the visiting teams to the Victoria Ground all season put together! More match reports HERE and HERE.

Hello Terriers Thought I’d pop over and share your misery Not looking good for us after a two win new manager bounce we’ve quickly fallen back to being dog shit again Looks to me now like the bottom six are being cut a little adrift Barnsley still keeping us off the bottom, Luton could be in free fall after conceding 7, Wigwam are very poor, Boro I think are probably better than their current position So that leaves you and us Are you good enough to stay up ? I’m not sure we are but our next three games are Hull Luton and Reading so we’ll know more after that. Think we’ll spend in Jan but it may be too late Can’t wish you good luck anymore it’s far too bloody serious now 😊

Add to that we have a 17 million player who is not trying at all and its going to be hard.

Just on the coach back from Hull Was going to get a ticket for New Year’s Day next week but I’m fucked if I’m spending another penny watching this shit Looks like you’re falling back into trouble but don’t worry there’s one relegation place going to us and that’s definite

We know the managers are strong and we’ve outplayed both swans and Brum at home despite failing to have that cutting edge. Bristol City was bad but it seems to have enabled us to cut loose the overpaid wasters and focus on who wants to stay. We’ve been unfortunate today despite having almost a full side out injured and provided we’re in touching distance once The January window shuts we can see the players reacting to this management team. I’ve witnessed us miss some incredible point blank headers in the last 4 games. Hope we continue to create those chances rather than live to regret the poor finishing I think Wigan, Luton and Barnsley and maybe a couple of mid table sides start slipping. Charlton away on Tuesday is a big one for us. They’re in a bad run. Agree that Boro should be doing better. As should your boys.
