Did something happen with Stankovic after the game? Heard something on radio about Cowley having to talk to him, but missed why. Thanks. Apparently he went out on to the pitch after the game, ran up and down for a bit then sat down. DC had to cut his radio interview short and go talk to him. Don't know why, seems a bit odd.

Just seen Grant’s finish on Quest. Brilliant strike. Longest unbeaten run in the Championship. Another clean sheet. Brilliant goal celebration. The confidence is back.

I thought we would get smashed today... how good does it feel to be 100% wrong. Bloody good today !!! Well done Town. I must admit I was not overly confident of Town getting a result at Brentford, but credit to the players and the Cowley's, we really do seem to have turned the corner now , fantastic result.UTT.

Every year they nowhere near at end of season.

Did something happen with Stankovic after the game? Heard something on radio about Cowley having to talk to him, but missed why. Thanks. can only speculate but if he's reached the end of his tether with not playing I can't blame him at all. in his 4th season with us now, we've had a very rocky start with Hogg, Chalobah and Elphick, playing in his 2 best positions, not covering themselves in glory. all of them played very well today and with so many clean sheets there's no reason to change the team. through no particular fault of his own as well- year long injury layoff, played brilliantly at home against wolves last season, and was never the main culprit when he played at centre back either. his lack of involvement so far has baffled me

I came across the tweet from the Brentford fan and read the replies. I've no idea if Wankoe is discussing our performance.

Maybe 'Ryan' thought we should just turn up and let Brentford play flowing football and roll over and have our bellies tickled so they could win? How old is this guy, 12?

Love reactions like this - is it spelled morngy or maungy or even a different way? The best thing is Town fans would never react like this if a team, ooh like Burton Albion as a random example, did a job on us. Too humble.

From the Bees Forum: Damn frustrating. We offered little today against a truly non-football good side of tough guys who had one shot in target. Our passing in the middle of the park was poor and sloppy, nobody took a grip in midfield, we lost the 50:50s and scarcely had a player near any loose balls. I have noticed that we leave big gaps in midfield recently. Our final passing was ineffective and the number of times we gave away the ball too cheaply was a thorn in the side. Yes we deserved a point but we never controlled or dominated convincingly. Huddersfield were hard to bear but they are a bunch of hoofers and timewasters who would be better playing rugby. The goal they scored naturally came from a mistake where we didn’t keep the ball. We tried to play our way but it was very disjointed. Kamo again wasn’t on his game and Noirgaard was loose too. We never got going. Frustrating after all the hard work. We need to keep the ball better, predict louse balls and dictate better. I love the fact we're starting boil piss again in this league Celebrating at a murder scene seems a bit disrespectful.

Scoring goals and winning (not losing) games helps but that kind of togetherness seemed a million miles away before the Cowleys arrived.

O Brien has the skills but he’s got the eye of the tiger! He’s got the desire of a champion.
I’m now convinced that having phil in charge means we will be able to tie these talents down to long lucrative contracts and maximise revenue if and when they are sold.
Hopefully after a Grant, O’Brien inspired promotion next year.

And yes I did put my money where my mouth is and backed us for the 1-0 win at 8/1. Very nice £80. Thanks Cowleys. Perfect tactics again.

Obrien is already twice the player billing was. Absolutely class. Nice to see young harret on the bench as well, only warm ups but looked as good a finisher as solskjaer in his prime. He really isn’t. Billing took bornemouth to yet another 3 points today. He could become one of the highest achieving possible layers who’ve ever been in towns books. However, O’Brien is definitely premier league material and a delight to watch. Hopefully we can tie him down to a very lucrative contract until promotion is secured. Now billing and O Brien? That would’ve been handy!

I read an interesting quote from Cowley after the match. Sorry if already posted:
Cowley admitted: “We are in place where we’re not ready to outplay opposition like Brentford and if you can’t, you have to outrun, outwork and outfight them.
“Our attitude to defending and working hard was first class and it helped disrupt their rhythm and fluency."
“We had a meeting and gave the boys two options on how to approach the game.
“We decided to press them aggressively on a tight pitch and we didn’t think we could allow them to get settled in the game because if they do they are very difficult to stop.”
He added: “We knew that if we attacked the central space we would cause them problems, especially with a high press, but because it was a collective decision it is then all about the ownership."
Another little piece of good management. These guys are doing a superb job.

"I don't think I have ever been more gutted than the play off semi final against Huddersfield in 95. Probably the worst I ever felt leaving GP (Doncaster I was just in shock). Their fans in both games were utter ***** hence why I hate them. Really hope the last memory of us playing them at GP is a convincing win. I still say 4-0."

He gave them an illusion of choice if you like.

He must have thought he would get games this season, as did I. He has never let the club down when he has played. I think he still could be a good player here.
