surely the buck stops with the chairman? failure of any organisation to do the basics at any level has to be down to those at the very top, in towns case the chairman and the board. Did Dean have an almighty brainfart? We were shockingly unprepared in all departments. I think he may have had a bit of an illness. Leicester's chairman/owner died in a helicopter crash...Doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

Nobody (including myself) is dissing Dean Hoyle and what he did overall in his time as chairman, but jesus he fucked up big time in trusting staff under him to be able to get the job done without him. They were not good enough, end of.

I wonder if the same Leicester would let Marc Albrighton go..That lad can cross a ball, and take corners....Just what we need.He is generally a sub for them..Loan perhaps?

I honestly don't see who is going to buy Mounie? He plays like a blind man in rigger boots and hasn't scored nigh on 2 years, who is seriously going to part with any cash for him. The club really need to back the Cowleys in January with some funds and help them get rid of a few. Didn't he score against Wolves in February? Granted it was mighty late in that game 90+1 mins. You may have missed it if you left early! He did, and also scored against Burnley in January from an Isaac Mbenza cross.

Would be a great signing but I suspect there’d be a queue of Premier League teams wanting to take him. I also can’t see him wanting to drop down to a Championship relegation battle.

No disrespect to Mounie as I quite like him but the drought will not have perspective suitors flocking.

No one is still alive from them days so we can't quantify, we'll go with Martin as the best Smith so far. Coddingtontripper was Billy's father was better.

The manager chooses the tactics, which dictate the physical/technical attributes of the players he needs. The DoF uses his network to identify potential players. The analytics people assess the physical/technical attributes of those players to see whether they fit the mould. What the analytics people can't assess is a player's personality/temperament. For that, either the manager or the DoF taps into their contacts to find out what the player is like behind the scenes. It's the same as any employer trying to distinguish between similar CVs - you see if you know anyone who knows that candidate and, if so, you pick up the phone and ask them what they're like. First season we sign a lot of players from Germany - I suspect that Wagner (whose playing and coaching career was primarily in Germany) got in touch with a few contacts to ask what they are like. The result is that we sign players who are great on and off the pitch. Second season we move away from German players, so I suspect it was Moss tapping into his contacts to see what the players signed from abroad are "really" like. I think Depoitre is an example of this. Third season (and second half of second season), we don't have a DoF and the majority of players are signed from places where I suspect nobody had any contacts. The result is we sign on the basis of attributes (I suspect, bluntly, "we need pace in the team") with little idea of what those players are like on the training ground/behind the scenes. Irrespective of his job title (99% of job titles are meaningless anyway), blaming the analytics guy for not identifying players with the right attitude is like blaming a builder for not designing the building properly. The fault lies either with the person setting the spec for the type of player they want, or with the person who failed to bring in a DoF with the necessary contacts to do the job properly. On the whole it sounds a simple process right?

Have you now changed your argument, as that wasn't what you said previously? Besides which he also scored last season against Burnley.

That was proof enough for plenty on here to convince themselves he was worth the £10M we paid Was a cracking cross to be fair but fcuking expensive! Glad I was there to see it! Also he once beat a man at Old Trafford

Full back Niko Hamalainen linked from QPR who's currently on loan at Kilmarnock Made more appearances for Finland (U18 upwards) since 2015 than he has in 5 years in England/Scotland since 2014. 22 appearances since 2014. There'll be uproar on here if true.

If we could have any chance of this happening, I would be tempted to get Matt Ritchie on loan. Only appeared 3 times for Newcastle this season and is fantastic at this level, would definitely fit the way we play and would create and also actually put chances away

We will clearly be looking at left back options, considering Brown is the only out and out left back in the squad. So what about Lloyd Kelly on loan from Bournemouth? Signed for big money from Brizzle City and doesn’t feature at all.
