In their current situation it's likely that Southampton will ring the changes and send out a second 11 next week. Should we do the same? Personally I'd like to see us take the cup seriously, pick a strong team and have a right go at them. It's been a hell of a long time since we had a decent run and it would do us a world of good.

I'm in 2 minds on this.
On the one hand, I agree with you, and whilst it looks as though this season we have plenty to avoid relegation but not enough to have a tilt at promotion, now seems like a good year to go after the cups.
The flip side of that though, is that we have a paper thin squad. More games = more chance of picking up injuries & suspensions, and less chance to rotate the squad when tiredness kicks in later in the season.
On balance, reluctantly I'd be looking to this as an opportunity to give fringe players a run out.

Couldn't agree more. Use it to blood a couple of the signings we hope to make this week and have a go. Weve been robbed as fans in recent yrs in the cup......not least the abysmal shambles v the cowleys lincoln in Aug!

I can see Stankovic, Schindler and Simpson all being rested. We cannot risk injuries to these three.

Reds count in any so figure that out!

The FA cup is the best competition in the world and I would love to see us have a crack at it and upset a few of the elite along the way.

I would much rather play the 1st choices but can we afford to?

We have to have signing ready to come in on Jan 1st, right? If so, play them and get them ready for the week after.
When the draw came out I said the same thing - play the kids. It's a long way down, we don't have much chance of winning anyway and with our recent injury record I'd rather not see hs lose more players, particularly when the game after is Barnsley.

Anyone know why the kick offs are 12:31 and 15:01 ?? It's to do with taking a minute to think about mental health. Nice idea, but given most games kick off late anyway, eg 5 mins yesterday, it loses a bit of the idea.

We could put Real Madrid in a Town shirt, and we would still be out of the FA cup before the Christmas tree comes down

Not sure if we have much of a second string to put in at the moment with injuries and other things.
Expect Coleman will play, Duhaney in for Simpson and Edmonds-Green in for Schindler. Koroma and Daly will probably play too.
so a team something like
Coleman Duhaney Stankovic Edmonds-Green Hadergjonaj O'Brien Chalobah Daly Koroma Grant Mounie
Also depends on injuries following the Stoke match and whether Campbell plays against Stoke or not.

Wouldn't change too much, not a massive fan of rotation, 3 or 4 woukd be understandable given squad crisis atm. Fans are going to go, go to win.
Coleman
Flo schindler stank Brown
Chalobah
O brien bacuna
Koroma Campbell Daly
Rest grabara Grant kachunga and Simpson
Still a decent enough squad to have a good go.

Considering the injuries we’ve had lately I would give the entire first team the day off,and get the FA to cough up for free coach travel from huddersfield There might be a few southern terriers going who live on the south coast as well which will make up the crowd Personally I wouldn’t think of going although we went last season

Wouldn't it be nice to have a job where anything over 90 minutes work each week was deemed excessive!
Play the first eleven and stop fannying around.

Next weeks 1st round draw will be live on BBC2 @7pm Monday 14th from Valley Parade, Bradf0rd......I wonder which big money spinning tie they would like? Thanks irverino ! I’m hoping that Town can get a romantic non league - perhaps not a million miles away from Huddersfield - away tie which should be winnable (I know, I know) but would be a nice day out for The HTAFC fans... Progress achieved (hopefully) then a home tie of any sorts (Bradford might be tasty) on St. Andrew’s day 🏴 walking down St. Andrews Road 🏴 would be beautiful for me ! I’m all being well, planning to be down for The Clash with Wigan Athletic on Tuesday 3rd December and a home tie in The Second Round (Proper) of The FA Cup would allow for a fantastic long weekend in Huddersfield - The Cup game on The Saturday and some sightseeing around ma favourite English County on The Monday ! I’ve done Halifax, Golcar, Wakefield, Castleford, Honely, Homefirth, Rotherham and Barnsley at this lark, so hopefully I can add another couple of places this trip ! 😊 Come On Ye Progression Draw (this time) And Come On a HOME DRAW for 30th November !!! 🙏 👍

A Home Draw v Bradford in The Second Round (Proper) - 30th November - would be perfect for my travel plans to Huddersfield (art)... Assuming HTAFC progress that is... (Town And Cup Competitions And all that) ! 🤭
