If Fulham beat Brentford there's no way Kongolo will come back to Town...he sees a chance for the PL again and Fulham will be £100m+ better off...they'll put an offer in incidentally, did kongolo come back to town for his rehab, has he been seen around the club at all ?

If you want to Preston away... you wouldn't want to see him wearing the shirt again. It wasn't just because he had an 'off day He played like he wanted to be dropped and moved on. I will always support a player wearing the shirt. God help me, but I would support mbenza and diakhaby. But Kongolo... Not a chance I went to Preston and know exactly what you mean. A total and utter disgrace that day with zero thought for the 000’s of Town fans there that day. Fuck him.

More Chance of me and Rocky agreeing on politics than Kongolo playing for town again

More Chance of me and Rocky agreeing on politics than Kongolo playing for town again When you think back to his displays at the end of the survival season it's a massive shame. He was instrumental in that.

He can do one for me. As soon as we were regulated. He become a Lazy, injury prone, waste of space.

Sorry but like him or not Kongolo is by far the best defender we have on the books. He absolutely crunched and marked some of the best attacking players in the PL out of games in our first season. Granted, slightly less in the second but let's not forget he wasn't the only one not pulling his weight. I can see both sides re the Preston game and possibly Lincoln was it, when he came on as a sub and strolled around. Nobody knows what's gone on behind the scenes but I guess the ball is now in his court and if he wants it I'd happily see him given another chance. Agreed. He’s the best defender I’ve seen at Town. In his loan spell he was a monster. Honourable mentions for Monkou and Lucketti mk1. Having a continental European as head coach will help manage our French contingent I think. Plus the fact he’s a bloody good coach ofcourse. He’s a big depreciating asset right now so he either contributes on the pitch straight away or we cut our losses altogether and sell for peanuts and take the hit. Monkou probably pips him to it for me, by far the most organised and commanding CB I've seen play for Town but no doubt Kongolo could go on and be better if he applies himself whether that be with us or elsewhere.

The myth of Monkou is one of life’s great mysteries. He played well for half a season then downed tools. He looked a cut above because he was our first ‘cultured’ centre back after a decade with the likes of Scully, Sinnott & Dyson playing agriculturally at the back.
Kongolo had a far bigger impact and is a cut above quality wise.

In the first season, Kongolo was a young player who looked right at home in the Premier League. Another season like the first and I was sure he'd have scored a move to a decent mid-tier PL club.

People seem to be forgetting Monkou saying he as not "mentally attuned" to play. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/huddersfield_town/884692.stm

Why and how is it that Town fans still talk fondly of Monkou, yet they throw the book at players like Kongolo et al!?
He literally walked out on the club, mid season, in one the best disappearing acts in football. But any player that has ambitions of playing in the PL and not with Town is considered a public enemy. It’s weird.

I'm going against the grain here, but I don't think Kongolo is that good a footballer. He was often caught out of position or failed to pick up his man. He loved a last ditch tackle, which was often born out of a situation of his own making. I'm not talking about last season when he'd downed tools and simply couldn't be bothered, the same traits were on show during the survival season too. I never really understood all the plaudits he received. Monaco saw us coming and not half. I would even go as far as to say that I'd rather have Zanka back than Kongolo. I say that purely from a footballing point of view, regardless of how much money we've sunk on him or how bad his attitude may or may not be.

My recollection is that after a first few excellent games Monkow stole a living from us - let’s see if Carlos can motivate Kongolo before final judgement

When he first joined Town, he was impressive, his performances deteriorated, he was, frequently caught out of position. Ok wasn't playing at left back, rather than centre back! His heading ability was dodgy, fast forward to Preston, where he was awful! Let's hope that Fulham are promoted, let's get rid! - UTT.

tbh anyone can be enthusiastic and show willing when things are going well..it's when you're up against it though that you need players who dig in and still fight and give 100%...Kongolo is not that player...soon as we hit a rough patch he'll sulk, down tools and bloody give up... We don't need any more players like that, we've had too many of them..I'd sacrifice a bit of talent for someone who always gives it everything they have..Darren Bullock comes to mind...you don't have to be the world's best to run around the pitch for 90 minutes, chasing down, harrassing..working for the team...

I thought Phil told us he decided Kongolo is a left back
Does this mean if you want Kongolo back you are all dropping Toffolo?!
Or as I do see him as a centre half who could play left back. Last chance for Kongolo but unlike some of the others I think he is worth fighting for as a centre half

Last chance for Kongolo but unlike some of the others I think he is worth fighting for as a centre half Phil probably said that because we didn't have a left back at the time. Given we don't have a naturally left sided centre back I think Kongolo has to be considered.
