The 4-0 home win over Charlton Athletic, on Saturday, was a second, consecutive, exhilarating performance. As in midweek, we missed some gilt-edged chances but took sufficient to run out convincing winners. Lewis O’Brien was named Man of the Match for another effective, hard-working game. However, I thought that Trevoh Chalobah also put in a stunning performance. What caught my eye was the way, time and again, he was able to find a man in space when he passed. I must hold my hand up at this point; one of the best goals I have seen for some time, coupled with an assist, more than justified Juninho Bacuna’s selection as an impact substitute. This result sees the Terriers up to 17th place on 42 points, and now five points clear of the drop zone, but that can reduce depending on Middlesbrough’s result on Monday. The margin of victory has also given a much-needed shot in the arm to our goal difference.
Leeds United, who we visit us next Saturday, are currently in 2nd place, on 68 points, a point behind West Bromwich Albion and five points clear of Fulham, in third, and have a 10-4-3 home record. The reverse fixture, on 7 December 2019, was a 2-0 defeat after second-half goals from Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez. The score-line flattered Leeds who defended set-pieces poorly and looked vulnerable at the back. However, Town were not able to take their chances. Our last two away games against the Whites were on 10 September 2016 and 19 March 2016, also in the Championship, when Huddersfield won 1-0 and 4-1 respectively.
The six points gained, last week, gives us effectively a free shot at the trip up the A62. If we select a similar team, and again adopt an attacking strategy, then we will have a puncher's chance of getting a result. However, if we revert to type for an away game, and try to defend for the first hour, then there is a danger that we will get run over. Sadly, and I hope that I am wrong, but I think the latter is the more likely prospect and I expect us to lose this time.
Paddy Power’s current odds are: Home: 3/10 Draw: 7/2 Away: 8/1 The Double Chance – Huddersfield and Draw – looks good value at 11/5.
Update (Monday) Middlesbrough drew at home 2-2 with Nottingham Forest, on Monday night, to remain deep in trouble in 22nd place. Lewis Grabban's controversial 86th minute equaliser, for the Tricky Trees, denied Jonathan Woodgate's side their first win for two months. This draw narrowed Town's safety margin to four points.
Paddy Power have drifted the odds on an away win to 17/2. The other odds remain the same.

Both sides are going to fancy their chances in this one, given they've both just had 4-0 wins.
Hull are in absolute freefall though - 2 points from the last ten games, and Towns win yesterday is definitely more credible, against better opposition in Charlton.
Haven't had a bet in months but I might put a couple of quid on an away win.

Football can quickly bring you down to earth. After getting max points from last two it's not inconceivable we get nothing from next two. The main thing is keeping the quality of the performances high and consistent and we'll be OK.

It will be interesting to see how Cowley sets up for this one, will he revert to boring football away from home after two fantastic attacking performances?

It will be interesting to see how Cowley sets up for this one, will he revert to boring football away from home after two fantastic attacking performances? It’s an interesting one. Whilst I expect us to play attack minded performances away from home against the majority now, I think going toe-to-toe with Leeds, at their patch is recipe for disaster. Whichever way we go, the back 5 are going to need the game of their season and that’s where I don’t think we are strong enough. Simpson is a bit suspect at times, same with Stearman. We know Schindler is more than capable if he’s on the ball, but hasn’t always been and Toffolo is solid. Will be brilliant to nick a win, let’s see

Can't see anything other than defeat for this one, I would love Town to prove me wrong, on their patch. And I thought liverpool would smash Watford, funny game football, do not be surprised if we beat Leeds. I think Leeds players will be more nervous than ours, go at them from the off, and put a lot of pressure on them.

6 points this week gives us a bit of a buffer and means there's as much pressure on them as there is us in this game, maybe even more. If we can avoid conceding early there's no reason we can't frustrate them and impose ourselves on the game.
We did very well against them with a skeleton squad earlier in the season so with a full complement of players and two very good performances behind us, why shouldn't we believe we can beat them?

We saw how to play against them in the home game. Press them and they panic like hell at the back.
But this time make sure we defend the edges of the box and force them into early speculative crosses that Schindler and Stearman can deal with. They have some good crosses of a ball if you give them time.
Start Mounie. They don't like the physical challenge and he bullied the hell out of them at home.
So a 3-0 loss then...

I actually think going and playing attacking football might be to our advantage. The seem to play a weird formation thats something between a 4-4-2 and a 3-6-1. we have shown with our newly mobile midfield we can cause problems. true it would need a bit of a miracle to beat them on their own patch but Wigan did it.

Today's football isn't all about starting with your best 11. Whatever you think that may be?
Tactical use of subs is just as important particularly given that some players will inevitable tire worse than others (on both sides).
I was becoming very critical of the Management team up to and including the Swansea game, Their plan appearing to be "lets see if we can soak up the pressure and hit them in the last 20 minutes.
To be fair I think they've got it spot on in the last couple of games, whilst still some room for improvement.
Leeds should be our toughest test in recent weeks but I do hope we don't revert to the "containment" strategy. Lets have a bit of confidence and give it a go.

Campbell’s pressing is very important but he’s a red card waiting to happen, especially in this match. I’d start mounie.

If Town don't score goals then we will lose and we now know we have a team with the ability to get those goals. The problem is that while ever we have just a 1 goal lead we always look flaky and susceptible to conceding. If I was the manager I'd be leaving things exactly as they as this bunch of players must now have confidence flowing through their veins. Give them the chance to get the biggest scalp of all and continue our winning run.

Tricky one. If Mounie had started yesterday we might have gone 2-0 up earlier and eased the pressure as we seemed to be getting some decent aerial balls in first half, the one that Grant couldn't do anything with for instance if it had fallen to Mounie he might have converted. However if the Cowleys think bringing him on as an impact sub works better for their overall game plan then fair enough, weve had 6 points from last 2 games operating like that.

Free hit this game Nobody will say anything other than a home win. Yes it is Leeds and we all want to get one over on them but the game that matters is Wigan at home week after.
Would rather win that
But don't get me wrong 2 wins would be fine with me lol
