"We've sold out the home ends every game, only the biggest gate cos you're the only away team to sell out your allocation" - according to their fans. What does that tell you about visiting Elland Road. It's a bit of a conundrum, all the other, lesser European super clubs such as Barcelona and Manchester United are regarded by the others as a highlight, a game to mark on the calendar as one you want to get to if at all possible but our friends from down the road can't entice two and a half thousand visiting supporters? It's almost as though their ground is an overpriced, grubby relic and they aren't regarded as that much of a big deal by the rest of football ?

What the bloody hell is going on at this club as Deano and many other supporters /players past and present might ask.
This club has despised our bitter rivals the Leeds scum for well over my 50 years following our wonderful club , and i am now reading nice comments about the scum from Cowley and other town fans in this thread.
This should not be happenig especially as when did anybody read anything nice coming out of bellend road when town won promotion to the premier league .
Remember these Leeds twats said it was our cup final , but amazingly there best crowd of the season spent their hard earned money to watch the game
How times have changed as certainly not the bitter rivalry i once remembered

How old are you Sugy? I hate them whilst accepting that at present they are a good football team. What's wrong with that exactly?

I agree they are our most hated rival but at same time a good side. But why the arse licking? In our promotion season they did note but slag us off saying we were in a false position, we'd fall apart etc, tinpot outfit etc etc I don't recall any nice comments? Do you?

Leeds United are as good as up now. I have one very good friend who is Leeds mad, and he was the only one of the ones I know (there's quite a lot in Brighouse) to offer congratulations when we got promoted to the PL. I shall therefore reciprocate when the time comes, as it surely will. However none of this really matters, the critical thing is that next season we are playing our respective football one division apart, as opposed to two.

You introduced a bit of balanced thought into the discussion. They only SO CALLED balance i remember was when many of the scum called us ON NATIONAL RADIO the TIN POT club who were NOT FIT to represent yorkshire in the premier league THIS IS YOUR CLUB THAT THEY WERE SLAGING OFF IN NUMBERS ONE AFTER ANOTHER LIVE ON RADIO I have been following town club since 1962 ,and all i ever remember was hate between the two clubs which created a ONCE BITTER RIVALRY both on and off the field . These scumbags have always looked down on us as some kind piece of shit on their shoe as long as i can remember, and the arrogant twats belitled us by saying it was only our cup final on saturday even though it created plenty of interest from their supportersn thus their best crowd of the season Cant remember deano having a nice word to say about them or anyone else involved with our club over past years ,and shame on Cowley Leeds must be and have always been the most hated club in the country well ahead of Millwall ,and doubt that will ever change

The fact we have had a few years laughing at them from a higher level is just a bit of a bonus. It was never going to last forever.

If they do get investment from the Gulf at the levels being suggested, that, coupled with PL money and the income that they will get from filling their stadium every week in the PL, (as they should, being one-team large city) suggests to me that our piss-taking fun is likely over for a long time. They have fecked up big time for the last 15 years or so, and it’s been great to watch, but I think their time is coming and we’ll have to get used to it.
On the other hand....who cares? PL, Championship or L1, they always have been and always will be the biggest in-bred, arrogant, entitled and hated set of supporters in the country. That won’t change just because they have a bit of brass. Anyway...the PL desperately needs them rather than those pointless little clubs currently spoiling the PL.😉

Far too much of a L**ds love—in going on recently.
Have you no shame? They’re our biggest rivals and the attendance on Saturday proves we’re theirs. Still.
Fingers crossed the country grinds to a halt over Coronavirus and they don’t go up.

Getting fit for a living when you don't have a real job is pretty simple. You have all day, every day, to do it....with 2 months a year off! It should be a gimme with footballers but a lot struggle with it. Curious how actors manage it for movies. Don't diss my 6km a day (I do light weights as well)...I am 2 stone overweight and just out of chemo. At our age people should do a few weights, it really makes a difference. I'm not talking body building. Never lifted a thing over 5kg in my life yet been doing light weights for 20 years. Just lifting your arms or shadow boxing does you the world of good. I walk a lot....lower body no issues but we get lazier as we age. Resistance is the key.

The real fans don’t give a fuck about what other teams are doing . Hand on heart when town went up I text a couple of pals and said . “ Enjoy the Greedy league ! It has massively changed since we were there . It’s a generation ago . The best times of my life watching Leeds were the Eighties in the Old Division 1 and the last two years because we have learned how to play football again because believe me bar 6 months on 2010-2011 we have been shite . Wise , Grayson, Warnock , Hockaday etc . If we go up I’ll have one more season with a season ticket . Not because of anything else other than I can’t be asked with going to soulless grounds with fucking old dears knitting and pizzas being delivered at HT

Not because of anything else other than I can’t be asked with going to soulless grounds with fucking old dears knitting and pizzas being delivered at HT There's a lot to be said for that. We were a joy to watch when we went up, an absolute breath of fresh air. 4231 vs your 4141 but the style was almost identical to yours now. We beat Brighton 3-1 at home 3 days before we did you and it was almost identical to Saturday, an absolute swarm in defence and they couldn't get the ball off us when we had it. It was soon knocked out of us though. Bottom half premier league sides are clearly way better at the overall aim than championship ones, but they almost all play worse football to watch. Mass ranks of defensive, safety first football where the only goals scored are set pieces and counter attacks. Players on the whole no more talented than championship ones but bigger/faster/stronger, more disciplined and with more to lose. Games of chess with hardly any mistakes reliant on someone doing something special. Think you'll catch a few sides on the hop early doors but without Wolves-esque investment it's almost impossible to stick to your nice to watch football and prosper long term. Think even a lot of your lot will quickly realise the journey has been better than the destination. Its difficult to factor out the premier league circus and always wanting your side to be as good as possible, but give me watching 16/17 Town or 19/20 Leeds in your case over Burnley or Newcastle. And that's without the half time pizza half and half wankers everywhere.

How times have changed as certainly not the bitter rivalry i once remembered TBF Sugy if you'd been there Saturday you'd have realised the rivalry was pretty bitter both ways. A few nice words (possibly by some who were not in the vicinity of Beeston Saturday) on DATM doesn't change that at all.

I changed my lifestyle some time ago and look after myself physically and food wise but still drink way too much and probably always will. I know it's coming to get me but I still can't stop and dont really want to. My whole social life and experiences have revolved around alcoholic piss ups and I've had some great times.

How old are you Sugy? I hate them whilst accepting that at present they are a good football team. What's wrong with that exactly? About 12 by the sound of his post. Just because Cowley (a guy who 7 or 8 months ago had no connection to Huddersfield Town) goes a bit OTT in praise of a team who will easily be promoted this season, doesn't mean the level of hatred has reduced from those who've watched Town all their lives. I was there on Saturday and it was as much in evidence as ever.
