Strange post? Supported Town through thick and thin, and through worse times than this, and will continue to do so. Personal opinion is we will finish on 48 points, maybe 49, but that won’t be enough looking at opposition fixtures and our GD, and I expressed that. Sorry for posting my thoughts on tactics in recent games, and opinion on league finishes, on an online forum. Will be more than happy to be proven wrong, and if so feel free to bring this up again and I’ll raise my hands to it. Plenty of get out clauses there. Ha - I’m not one to cause arguments on here. Each to their own opinion fella. Perhaps I’m hurting and overreacting, and I hope so. It could be a valuable point - just frustrated we didn’t press for 3 again.

If that was us trying hard to win, I'd hate to see us play for a point. The bloke's fucking delusional

Set up for 0-0? Must have missed our striker missing the most almightily glorious chance of the match. Lössl was magnificent, but we created the out and out best chance. Too many players aren't showing and aren't gambling. Yes, we should have used the subs better, but for goodness sake. I'm fed up of people blaming the managers with the dross they inherited. Give them a chance and they'll get us playing next season. We were seeing flashes before lockdown, and more of the same will become commonplace. If you think we made a concerted attempt to win that game you need your head read. Yes, we created one good chance, but there was little attacking intent throughout the match. If you think otherwise then fine, but I disagree. The Cowley's inherited alot of dross - true - but they are also responsible for the direction of the team. At the moment I see no identity on the pitch whatsoever. There is no structure, no patterns of play, no attacking intent. The players take some responsibility for that, but so do the managers. They are managing a team that looks utterly devoid of attacking ideas. And its the same game after game. If you want to absolve the Cowleys of any blame for our utterly ineffective and directionless performances, then fine. You do that. I am not one for calling for manager's jobs - never have been - but I am losing faith in their ability to take us forward. I have rarely - if ever - seen such an ineffective team. We never look like scoring at one end, and live by the seat of our pants at the other. As we did tonight. Its not good enough. You know our game plan when we reach the 80th minute. It is like the witching hour for Cowley. Every player slows down and plays for time and Lossl hits every ball out of play. Zero urgency to go for a winner and stay up. As Andy says a very dangerous game.

Apart from Toffolo no one else seems to be able to get in behind especially down the right. Willock is ponderous.
Even when a cross comes in they seem to be afraid to commit players in the box. The midfield don't support. The strikers are unwilling it seems to try get across the front of their men. Mounie seems to operate on the principal if he stands in a particular area the ball will magically find him.
ESR is perhaps trying a bit too much especially on the edge of the area trying to beat two or three men. Either shoot or find a man and keep the pressure on.

Sadly Grant needs to be dropped as he clearly has little interest in playing for the team. I am baffled that Mounie was taken off when we were needing attacking options . Equally Bacuna could have changed things for us as ESR drifted out of the game. If by some miracle we stay up something drastic has to change regarding our play in the final third as the opposition goalkeepers have nothing to do of note when playing us.

Possibly not but a better opportunity to get points than our final two games don't you think? Yes and if the post had said that, I'd have agreed.

Tonight has confirmed to me that it's an instruction.

Now you're just trying to be controversial. TBH i can't remember the football under him but this is absolute shite that these 2 are providing Exactly, it was some of the most forgetable football we have ever played, although this is not much better.

It would be typical for us to beat WBA and send leeds up.... Its hard watching this, nothing has changed since the wagner days apart from we aren't nicking games like that 1-0. Toffolo and ESR gives me some hope that the Cowleys can get us attacking.... but then you look at stearman, King, simpson and have to question more than 50% of the recruitment. I'm looking forward to it finishing, hopefully big Phil manages to implement a fire sale and we can totally overhaul this team. Do I think we will stay up? YES. Am I looking forward to next season? NO. Nothing has changed since the wagner days?! I can honestly say at this level i NEVER EVER got bored of watching town under wagner. Im that bored right now i havent seen the last 2 games cos what i saw before then nearly made my eyes bleed!!! Its beyond hideous right now. We can only hope to stay up by the skin of our teeth and regroup. I’d rather watch Aaron Mooy kick a ball round his back garden on his own than this turgid guff. I had better evenings during lockdown.

I'll be quite happy if dull keeps us up. On the positive side, that's only 2 goals we've conceded in the last 5 games. Yes but against one of our relegation rivals. I said that a bit tongue in cheek. Wednesday are a decent passing, organised side. Just looking at the game in isolation, that was a good result.

I think the players gave their all and yes it was there for the taking, but it was a lot better than most on here expected after last Friday. When you're under pressure all you can do is try and I think the response was excellent. You can't expect free flowing football, but endeavour and effort were definitely in evidence. I think these upcoming matches offer us the chance to express ourselves as you lot don't expect owt! Utt

We never look like scoring at one end, and live by the seat of our pants at the other. As we did tonight. Its not good enough. That is a bit unfair. I think it was an attacking team put out tonight. Where we struggle, still, is speed of movement and thought in the final third. When Campbell missed near the end we had two players in the box. Toffolo was first to the ball on the wing and hit a good cross first time. If we did more of that and had better finishers we would score more. You cannot blame the Cowleys for a bunch of players who just can not seem to hit the net. It is probably partly fear, given our position, but Nahki Wells would have buried that chance as would Jordan Rhodes (in his day) and a bunch of others. We don't have that quality, and haven't for a few seasons. Positives, I thought Chalobah played well again. They got in dangerous positions a few times but we defended pretty well. O'Brien worked hard and linked up well with ESR, it is just that last push toward goal. Fingers crossed other teams fluff their lines at least as badly as us. We need a lot of changes next season wherever we are.

We’re crap at the moment but we were dead and buried when the Cowleys arrived. If they keep us up, and I realise it’s a big if, then they can only be seen as a success. The goals have dried up but we were hardly awash with them before. The football is crap but we’ve been in a relegation fight pretty much all season so here’s a serious question. If it’s not the Cowleys, who is it?

Also we had some great individual performances, Lossl, Chalobah and Toffolo and young Smith Rowe worked his socks off and Stearman and Schinds were solid. All in all a good cohesive team effort, not the many on here alluded to was it? Utft

A game we needed to win & we set-up to play like that? Absolute dog shit performance. Grant played the entire game with his back to goal. ESR completely disappeared second half. Hogg is an atrocious footballer. All 3 played 90 mins. What the fuck is Cowley watching? We didn't need to win Of course we did. We're in a relegation battle with two games to go. Setting up not to lose can easily bite us in the arse, especially with two games to go against teams that are currently far better than we are. It was the best chance we had to make us safe & we set-up & played like that.

Think some of the comments about players not caring, or displaying no effort or desire are wide of the mark. I think you could tell they cared and put in a shift tonight, we're just not a very good team playing with absolutely zero confidence that's all.

Toffolo was all over the place most of the time he had to defend, Stearman kept diving in and getting beaten and Schindler wasn't great.

The formation they favour clearly isn't working in an attacking sense. May as well try something different, as suggested on here maybe a 4-3-1-2 or 5-3-2. We spunked millions on shit wingers who couldn't cross the road, so just get toffs and chalobah bombing on with stanks covering the centrebacks, then allow o'brien or Bacuna to break from midfield, with ESR behind the front 2, of shit and shitter

The Cowleys must be the most negative managers we have had in a long time, they just seem to stop the players going and winning a game. They were clearly happy with the point, Lossl showed that at the end messing about with the goal kick. I posted after Luton that they never learn from their mistakes, and that just sums it up really. After all the criticism tossed their way, they prove that its correct. This style will not work in the Championship, and when you play like this you normally get punished. They got away with it against Preston, Wednesday and Reading, but most of the time, like Luton, Wigan, Forest, and plenty of other games this season, you get punished. If the chairman has watched the last few weeks, and has seen something in the Cowleys that I am missing, then fair play to him, but we just look tactically clueless, we have NO idea how to attack, let alone score a goal, our mindset is that of a team expecting to lose, and the entertainment value is just none existant. I have paid for dental work thats been more exciting than this. This summer whether we stay up or not, we have to make some big changes, because I will say this now, if we stay up and try to do again, next season, what we did this season, in terms of transfer activity, in terms of tactics, in terms of game plans, we will go down next season.
Another 2 hours wasted tonight, just 2 more games to go...

I can't see how he will ever make it in the Championship because he is so weak defensively and that's his main job
