Just shocked, didn't see this coming at all.
Thanks Danny and Nicky for all you have done for our club.

Initially shocked at this but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. They’ve done a great job of keeping us up but I feel they may have underestimated the job needed to manage a decent Championship team and I also think the board needed someone in ASAP early season, got the right lads in to keep us up but was never the long term plan. I have been a fan of Cowleys since day one but if we are to get out of this shitty small club mentality we have then big decisions need to be made. Managers and players come and go. Fans are here forever. UTT

That was the name that occurred to me too. It was my poor attempt at humour. Now I'm a bit worried.

Never a dull moment...
Delete as appropriate...
What an appointment, we could be heading back to the good times under 'xxxxxx'
What a shower, why sack the Cowleys and bring in 'xxxx' who's an utter clown...
Be fun on here for a few more days yet...
Has Phil actually commented on the back of these last 3 games? Maybe it was all planned regardless of the division we were going to end up in?

I know they were seen within the club as being out of their depth and I think that was plain to see. No wonder top players like Kongolo wouldn’t play for them. God the moronic statements on here beggar belief.

Something mega must be happening that we don’t yet know about, otherwise this makes no sense.

So we kept giving Jan time Even though he was clearly crap, but the cowleys who’s recruitment in 1 window was as good as anything since wagners first summer get sacked for steadying the ship. Think this a money decision, think they were promised money that Phill has reneged on and they were on £1million per season. Don’t think he can afford them. I couldn't see the Cowleys being sacked even if you'd gone down. They were the right management team for League One and had to have very good contracts, they took long enough to be wooed so will have insisted the financial packages were sound. To be sacked after achieving the goal they were given when they joined, something many supporters thought extremely unlikely, is astonishing. Ah well, I just wish we weren't in such a mess as I'd have been delighted to have them at The SOL.

I think it is an absolutely crazy decision. It will need a very good explanation to convince me that it is the right thing to do.

I don't hate the decision and I was someone who was perfectly happy to give them a full season next year before fully judging them. They did very well with what they had and for that we must be thankful but they're not without their downfalls. Having said that, this doesn't seem a footballing decision and there is probably a bit more to it than Phil not liking the style of football.
I'm sure the tired old "rotten to the core" comments will be dragged out throughout the day, but like someone said above I think we have to see who we have lined up before we can judge this decision fully. My leeds supporting mate hates the fact Corberan is rumoured. Apparently he's meant to be Bielsas long term replacement.

We are selling the club to people who have been waiting a while to buy one, they had their own ideas last time we discussed a deal with them, the deal comes with a full clear out clause and all their own people??? Dean turned it down before and put a caretaker in the seat awaiting the 'right time' , ie he got most of his cash back and that's now??? Both he and Phil now walk away and possibly both with a few bob extra? Perhaps?? Lot of conjecture there Galph. Hence the 20 question marks you put in I suppose One thing that would add credence to your theory is the timing. i.e. the purchase would only go ahead if our Championship status was retained. Well that happened yesterday so...

Mental - this makes no sense. So we are either more brasic than we all thought, there is a takeover happening or Phil has suddenly turned into a sheik. My money is on option 1.

They were being bellends every week on the touchline. Fair enough acting that way lower down the pyramind but its not really the done thing once you get up to this level Yeah, cos Warnock is a fucking choir boy isn't he, and what's he ever achieved?

The bottom line says everything. We already have someone lined up. Yes we are grateful for them keeping us up, but the football was awful and if they didn't have a plan of how to improve it then I think it's the right call. Reading between the lines it also appears to me they wanted more control which we didn't want to give them. But surely the football was awful because we were trying to stay up ...needs must and all that. I don't buy that. We were in a decent ish place in January but the football since then has been poor. No noticeable style and little attacking play.

That is fucking ridiculous..... sorry the clubs a fucking shambles. Phil better fu k off now as well. I'd started to warm to him but fuck me.
Its either a takeover or we need someone who can get the best out of kongolo, mbenza, diakhaby.
I was looking forward to seeing the cowleys in action with their own players.
Utter shambles

Thank you boys for all you have done this season. You took over an absolute basket case and You poured your heart and soul into it, to keep us up. I was fairly certain next season would be comfortable mid table. All the best for the future lads.

I don’t rate Phil as a chairman but he’s not clueless, for me there’s 1 of 2 reasons this has happened:
1. The Cowley’s are not happy / want to make changes not in line with the club. Unlikely.
2. Big changes are going to be made with a new boss already lined up. Seems likely considering there will not be applicants, a takeover looks very possible. This is not a ‘they haven’t done well enough’ problem this is bigger. Could prove huge.

The only way PH comes out of this in any decent light is if there’s a takeover and they want their own man or he’s somehow convinced Rafa to come 😉. Knowing PH he’ll come out with something along the lines of “the Cowleys tried to hold us to ransom”. I’m stunned, angry, bemused, intrigued and fed up. Everything positive in the last 10 years has been eroded away in less than 2. What is going on?

F**king baffled.
Don’t get me wrong the football has been piss poor at times, but they inherited this mess! They dug us out of it. And this is how we repay them?

That was the name that occurred to me too. It was my poor attempt at humour. Now I'm a bit worried. I hope I'm wrong. It was just the first name that occurred to me if we appointed from within. Obviously there's a very good chance we have someone external lined up. We would, wouldn't we?

Just a theory, no info. Perhaps the brothers had their heads turned by another club, so Phil just got rid. I hope not, as this shows we didn't have a plan at all and we were forced into the sacking.

No noticeable style and little attacking play. The job was to keep us up That would be a fair answer if we were sat here this time next season But clearly they haven’t been sacked due to results they don’t agree how to to take the club forward with dictator Phil!

Fuming at this C I would hazard a guess that they couldn't agree on budgets, Cowleys seemed very unhappy at letting Stankovic go (going by the wording when he signed abroad). Then this happens after them talking about signings. Again, this is all guess work I'm shocked, fuming and concerned at the same time Dammit Town, I wanted to relax now!! Maybe this has been on the cards for sometime and any budget was being kept for a new manager who didn't fancy Stankovic?

So they had a disagreement about how to move the club forward. If I ask myself which side of that argument is most likely to be the right one...
What a chuffing dog’s dinner.

Why are people upset by this? They’ve been awful and nearly sent us down. No it was the shit before they came that nearly sent us down. These boys kept us up. Everyone’s heads were down and gone. They instilled the belief into the team when it had none.
