isn't it normal to take time to respond with grace and effort when someone thanks you?,id be surprised if someone didn't tbf It's only exceptional when you factor in how many people might have done the same. If someone takes time to write me a letter telling me how great I am, I'd reply personally. Ronaldo almost certainly doesn't. I would think it to be quite rare from anyone in the public eye. It's not as if they ain't got time,

To be fair if Ronaldo took the time to reply to every letter telling him how great he is, he wouldn't be doing much else!! You or I or Danny Cowley probably get fewer such missives, and it makes perfect sense therefore that a personal reply would be forthcoming.I'll be honest with you. It has been a while since I've last been sacked (Christmas do: asked a director's wife what colour nipples she had - true story). However, even if I were sacked tomorrow, I'd imagine the manager of a relatively well- supported Championship club is going to get more DMs than me. For him to take the time to reply to people who will have little bearing on his future career is pretty admirable, in my opinion. Disclaimer: None of this sentiment excuses the performance against Wigan. Ok?

OK so having watched the youngsters play far better than the senior team, is anyone else starting to understand the 'difference in long-term vision' or whatever it was that was stated as the reason for their sacking? I get the impression that if we'd stuck with the Cowleys we'd be signing some more old pros and loanees, playing dull and pragmatic, and the younger players not getting a look in due to them preferring a 23-25 man squad.
It looks a like the addition of Corberan, a manager that wants to work with a larger 30 man squad with an integrated B team, is a good idea considering a) how good the young lads played today, and b) how they looked to be playing in a way that would slot them into the desired playing style of the first team a lot more easily.

Hence what makes the Danny Ward signing so bizarre, more of the same rubbish when we have younger players who already have more ability, more drive and more talent

There was plenty of ability on show in midfield and defence in the second half, but I'm not sure any of Rowe, Obiero, or Harratt would offer more than Ward at this stage.

I imagine at least one of them would have scored the sitter he somehow missed. I also imagine that at least one of them would have sprinted back after each attack to help the midfield get the ball back and set up another attack instead of ambling around like Mounie does so well at.

With Danny's runs and finishing with that level of vision behind him I think he would do really well.
