Impressive interview. We want to “dominate” and have one idea about how we play. That sounds great. Sod adapting to the opposition all the time. My idea was 'play forward at every single opportunity 'and I have no coaching badges in football at all... In fact going on a coaching course may set you back a bit??? New bloke give him a go, let's hope the club and especially the squad do??

I'll be happy if we finish the season with a positive goal difference for once! Like Wigan?

Anyone heard any whispers on the level of compo paid for this signature? Can't imagine its much, he'll likely have a 3 month notice which will need to paid out. Don't think he had a fixed term contract, because when they thought they might lose him last summer, it was reported along the lines of, "he'd decided to stay" rather than "they renewed his contract". (Bielsa contract expired last summer just as it has again...be piss funny if Bielsa walked away to his dream job in Spain!!) By the way - have a read of this - www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united-coach-carlos-corberan-remain-elland-road-following-cultural-leonesa-interest-480069 Its funny how he seemed to be very very highly regarded and influential at Leeds - and yet as soon as Town are linked, all the Leeds fans are all, "oh, he's not part of Bielsa's inner circle, not really bothered about him taking the step down" :D

I'm not having a go at the fella because I hope he succeeds, but, and it's a big but, I think it could be really tough again and staying up will be success. We gave up on Sievert pretty quickly, we have to give this lad more time however the results go to begin with. It's a tough ask to keep the faith, but we can't keep dumping managers/coaches or we'll never get the stability that good clubs have.

Sometimes you have to retreat before you go on the offensive again.

Sometimes you have to retreat before you go on the offensive again. I think I’d be pretty disappointed to have unceremoniously dumped the Cowleys only to start the season like we did the last one. It would smack of throwing the baby out with the bath water. CC needs backing and then we’ll see if we can start on the front foot.

When wagner turned up his influence with immediate, we have gone to a drab style now, so carlos' influence should also be immediate if he is going to have one.

Comes across well - ultimately needs backing Odd (deliberate) question asked to him re word to effect “We have strong links with our academy, 7 players on the verge of the first team....” 1. We got rid of the academy that produced these players 2. I’m not sure they are on the verge of the first team - Edmonds Green aside and obviously O’Brien. Strong hopes for High / Daly but I’d not suggest that they were on the verge of the first team just yet Pushing this using the Academy kids.... not sure they are ready for the first team. Most of them haven't even had a successful loan. If he can turn 7 of them into first XI starters in 3 weeks then he's better than Bielsa. Think it could be a long year next season if we don't see significant investment in the first team. I'd run it as a quota system. Having progressively more academy players/u21s in the squad of 22 each year. Starting with say 3 and adding 1 per year until we reach 5 or 6. Let's be honest, we arent going to win anything with Kids. I hope Phil is planning on opening his wallet and backing him like we did wagner or his spell incharge may be pretty brief. Might be worth keeping the cowleys on the payroll for when we need them in October if Big Phil doesn't put his money where his mouth is. I don't think he was pushing the academy he was answering a question, the question was about 7 academy players in the squad at Millwall he didn't say he was going to be playing them and was he excited about that. He said he wants the academy players to play the same way as the first team and then they can see if they're able to step up "one day". He could hardly say "I thought they all played shit at Millwall they've got no fucking chance and I'm not bothered about bringing players through" could he? I don't understand where all this we're just going to play with academy lads next year has come from, I asked the question in another thread and nobody could answer.

Dont think it's the right appointment but I will give him my full backing. Till his first loss, then I will slag him off again. Out of interest, who do you think should have been appointed?

Watching his press conference and the first thing that springs to mind is thank god I don't have to listen to Danny Cowley drone on ever again It feels like you might come away from his interviews with a case full of Rioja rather than owning than a second hand BMW you didn't really want. I can't really explain this, but he reminds me of a male, Spanish, Kylie Minogue! (And who doesn't like Kylie Minogue?).

Great interview Like this bit “There are clubs that are recognised throughout the football world, Huddersfield is one of these clubs”. Lets stick with this attitude rather than hiding behind how small we 'are'. Also enjoyed him calling Phil The President Yes. I’m liking what I’m hearing. The return of the “No Limits” mantra is exactly what we need and it would appear that everyone is aligned at last. This now needs to be a consistent message across the club to recreate that feeling of togetherness. All of a sudden I’m looking forward to a new season again.

Watching his press conference and the first thing that springs to mind is thank god I don't have to listen to Danny Cowley drone on ever again Im with you on this. Never warmed to the Cowley’s personally, though obviously I appreciate that they kept us up. As well as not having to listen to any more Cowley speak I’m also glad I won’t have to watch them running out with the team at 2.15pm waving to everyone.

He "knows our squad" yet in the same sentence says that's why he's happy to be here...
The man is clearly insane! In all seriousness, he comes across as an ambitious and knowledgeable coach. He might even get a tune out of Diabenza... UTT Ballax, they've been told to defend all bloody season....

Fair play - good enthusiastic interview, hard work and players will be given then chance from the Academy....if they are good enough for the first team.
Really intrigued to hear Phil speak and give some more detail to the thinking, the plan and what he expects we need to do i.e. we still need experienced, better and enthusiastic players...with no mental baggage.
A few hours in, so far so good...however a long way to go indeed.

Just hope he gets our players to work for a living, just hope he does not frighten them off. Getting Prichard to control a ball would be a good start.

I don't understand where all this we're just going to play with academy lads next year has come from, I asked the question in another thread and nobody could answer. I understand the question 1. We’ve appointed an under 23 coach (who comes across very well, looks to have done a good job - albeit fair to add with an academy which has produced talent year after year before he was there) 2. We put a few young players in the squad on the last game of the season (why not - nothing to lose, good experience etc albeit a few looked well short) 3. We’ve made a big deal of it on twitter / website “A proud moment for the academy... 7 young terriers...” 4. Rather than correctly saying a proud moment as 3 academy products High / Daly and O’Brien on the pitch together... As a PR stunt we try claim 7 of our academy players were involved. The reality is Rowe = Leyton Orient academy; Obiero XYZ academy; Duhaney = Man City etc until 2-3 years ago. They’re not all products of the academy who have been here since under 9 like High! .... the 7th player they’re claiming from the academy is Jaden Brown ffs - he was at Spurs until this time last year! We might as well have added ESR & Chalobah to the list and called it 9! 5. The question was suggesting we have great pride in our academy. Yet only 18 months ago we thought it was terrible and shut it down. All together the tweet about 7 young terriers / the question felt a desparate / over the top PR stunt to suggest we have a fantastic academy For the record we do have some good young players in High, Edmonds-Green and Daly. I hope they can break through - when the time is right not all chucked in and fingers crossed. Not fair on them or Carlos - he needs backing. Edmonds-Green closet after a successful loan spell

He controlled it well enough against Millwall the other night. The one time he was able to get onto the front foot. If we can do that a bit more next season then maybe he can get a lot more assists, what we signed him for.

Good omen. The planets are aligned. earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/visible-planets-tonight-mars-jupiter-venus-saturn-mercuryJuly 2020 offers you all 5 bright planets. Venus is that very bright object lighting the east before sunrise. After mid-July, find Mercury below Venus. Jupiter and Saturn are the planets to watch in July 2020. They are close together on the sky’s dome, and both reach opposition this month. Thus they’re at their best, up nearly all night, all month. Mars is looking very red now, steadily brightening, out between midnight and dawn.
Bottom line: July 2020 presents all 5 bright solar system planets. Catch Jupiter and Saturn at early evening and throughout the night, Mars between midnight and dawn, Venus in the predawn/dawn sky, and Mercury below Venus at dawn in the second half of July.
www.stelvision.com/astro/en/the-celestial-sights-not-to-be-missed-in-2020/#:~:text=In%20July%2C%20two%20giant%20planets,time%20to%20observe%20the%20planets.
In July, two giant planets will be at opposition, which means they’ll be aligned with Earth and the Sun: Jupiter the 14th and Saturn the 20th. These moments of alignment mean that they’re the closest to us and therefore the best time to observe the planets.
July is also the month where you can complete your planet marathon! On July 23rd and its surrounding days, all the planets in the Solar System will be simultaneously available right before the end of the night. Even Pluto, the demoted planet, will be there! Will you rise to the challenge to see them all? We will do whatever we can to help you make this happen!
