Heard a rumour he's picked up an injury in training today , if true we're a bit threadbare up front.

I know it’s not hard and we’ve not been able to judge him on fuck all but that was his best game for us today.

Yep. Did well (apart from that awful shot - the one thing I've said in his favour is that he can hit it with power & accuracy!). I hope next season he can make me eat my words.

Did he not create the pass (assist) for Bacuna goal, just saying!

Did he not create the pass (assist) for Bacuna goal, just saying! He did indeed, although my view is also that he played a routine pass to a colleague.

He looks like Tim Minchin.
Which is better then his “you wouldn’t leave him with your kids” look from earlier in the season.

He was able to head the ball a few times(more often that Campbell normally does) but no one seemed able to expect them.
A bit late for this season unfortunately.

He was able to head the ball a few times(more often that Campbell normally does) but no one seemed able to expect them. A bit late for this season unfortunately. We seem generally not very organised as attacking unit, Ward (or Campbell) always seem to be too far away from anyone else. The good moves we make are when you get the little bunches of players and ping triangle passes between them, pulling the opposition about...the Toffolo / Koroma / OBrien type interplay was a big part of why Koroma would often break out into shootable space (similar to how well Smith and Kachunga worked in the promotion season). Ward wins headers, but with Holmes drifting aimlessly around about 30 metres from him and often getting sucked in to being a 3rd left back (after we went three at the back, we lined up with more or less a flat back 7 when Forest had the ball for about 10mins yesterday!), what is the point?? And then likewise where Ward is too isolated going forwards, he doesn't seem to anticipate or get involved when we DO break...there was a move where Brown got far up the field, whipped the dangerous natural cross across the six yard box that every striker should be anticipating, Ward wasn't even in the penalty area. For me its a "must do better" for Carlos on the attacking front going into next season. Pointless bringing in players if we don't drill effective systems into them.

He'll be on a decent wage, so I'd expect this will be said again over the next 2 yrs. I'm going to predict he will make 27 appearances in all competitions over 2 yrs and score 4 goals. I will bookmark my post. Feel free to make a prediction

Feel free to make a prediction Must admit, my apathy at hearing that he'd returned was tempered by the fact that he'd done well for Rotherham after leaving us & then hearing that Cardiff would have been happy to keep him. The Danny Ward we have now - even when fit - hasn't looked a patch on the bang average winger we (quite rightly) released during the Crisp Owl era. Played ok yesterday though.

Given most of his performances so far, I think our nerves would be even more frayed if he'd been on the pitch! Still, not too late for him to have an impact. 4 games left & I can see this going down to the wire.

The guy is currently having his preseason. He should be ready for the rigours of a Championship season by the Reading game.

If he gets a full pre-season (without getting injured) and has our best players around him he may surprise us, then again, he may not 🙂

How sad that someone who was supposed to be our main striker hasn't even got one full page on the forum without talking about next season.

I agree he has been incredibly unlucky with injuries but, bar the pass to Bacuna on Saturday, he has shown absolutely nothing to make me say "if only we could get him fit". Perhaps, with Campbell out, he can show something at this late stage. I have to say he needs to.

My immediate thoughts when I heard we'd signed him was that we'd had a daft offer for Campbell and he was on his way. We've ended up with what would be 2 second choice strikers (a 2nd and a 3rd choice even) in a competitive squad.

We've ended up with what would be 2 second choice strikers (a 2nd and a 3rd choice even) in a competitive squad. It was an odd signing and for all the stats (that the Examiner continually quote) I don't think many were convinced. I don't have anything against him, and he has certainly been injured, but he has shown so little in the games he has played to date. It is these type of recruitment decisions that don't breed confidence and take away from the good decisions that have been made.

If I remember correctly he had a good shot with his right foot.
I hope he still has it and has shown it on training!!
