We have a great opportunity to offload him for at least this season on loan.
Rotherham, a good fit club wise and the right level of football for him where he will do okay. Rotherham are desperate for a Striker this transfer window, more than likely two strikers if Smith goes to Bristol City. There aren’t many strikers about that clubs will let go and the transfer window is about to close.
Bromby should be on the phone to Rotherham offering Ward and use his wages to offset bringing a Striker in who can offer something to Town and play at this level. Gazumping Bristol City and bringing Smith in using Ward as part of the deal would also be superb business.

What have Rotherham ever done to us to deserve that?

Ward did well there too, as a striker and in this division, so they'd probably be happy with this.

Bromby wouldn't do that to his mate. Probably more likely to give him a payrise and a contract extension.

Won't be popular but I'd have Ward over Campbell anytime - we at least know Ward has a powerful shot and is ok in the air. He isn't the nuisance that Campbell is - his main claim to fame - but with support he might come good.
To be fair to Ward he doesn't get the same system to play in as Campbell normally does. For me they are both far too weak.

I would really like him to prove me wrong, I just well basically think he's ineffective at this level.

In the past I have seen Ward have decent shots - close in and from distance. With Campbell I just never get the impression he's going to get on the end of crosses and/or score goals.

For me they are both far too weak. Couldn’t disagree more . Looking at performances over the past season and a bit when we’ve had both on the books, we’ve always looked more dangerous with Campbell up top. Whilst he doesn’t necessarily score enough he brings others into play . Would love to be proved wrong today with a Ward hat trick though

Now if we had the Danny Ward who was at Cardiff then that would do me. In terms of Campbell, difficult to make a case for him as a Striker due to lack of goals. I like him though and think we are harder to beat with him on the pitch. He gives boatloads more than Ward in my opinion.

Interesting to see the threads on Danny Ward and Christian Ronaldo next to each other.
Similar careers, have you ever seen them both in the same room?🤔

I used to like ward although he was very inconsistent, he ran at people and had a shot on him, injuries haven't been kind and that will have had an effect although he does seem leaner but hes a far cry from what he was. Hes scored hattricks for us but i doubt we'll be seeing that again, how i'd love to eat my words.

On face value Ward is the best all around player of the three, as he did that role fairly well for both Cardiff and Rotherham, just he's had a few chances now and been terrible in pretty much every game. In my view he's got to wait his turn now.....just looking at the team sheet not in Carlos' 😄

Has he featured as part of a front 3 yet this season? Cos he's been dreadful in a front 2, but so has everyone playing in a front 2 because we're so uncreative playing that formation- Koroma took 10 minutes to score after a change of shape against Sheff United after looking poor all season before that. Hope he gets it together this time and slightly more hopeful he will considering the players around him. Not surprised if he goes off at half time again though

Credit where it’s due. He had a good game today. I thought he was much better but still well below what he is capable of. He’s proved he can be a good striker at this level with other teams. He just needs to be much stronger and more consistent with his hold up play.

Credit where it’s due. He had a good game today. I generally don’t really slate Town players. In fact it’s rare for me but up until his goal, after which he was immediately subbed, he did pretty much nothing again. Offers zero threat, can’t keep hold of the ball, shit in the air, passes going wayward. He was poor. Again. Yes he runs about a lot. Again. Great performance by the team today but any single professional striker in League 2 could have done exactly what Danny Ward did today. Not good enough for the football we are trying to play. Our weak link.

Goal aside he was pretty awful. Having said that, if he keeps starting and we keep winning, I'm not really that bothered.
