Hi all Following a superb suggestion from SW6, the admin team have created a new sub-board within Talk of the Town for transfer rumours. It follows a model used by Chelski forum The Shed End - www.theshedend.com/forum/2-chelsea-rumours/The idea is there's a general discussion thread in which new rumours might break, and then separate threads can be created for the specific rumours/players involved. Example post might read "Town have been linked with Joe Bloggs - read more here - LINK" with the link being to a thread about Joe Bloggs. Appreciate that some might think this is change for change's sake but the current transfer window thread is 197 pages long and it's impossible to follow the various trains of thought within it. We'll now move that thread to this board and lock it, to kick off the new thread. You can still read that here: downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/114213/summer-transfer-window-2020NOTE: Please don't reply here with rumours - feel free to give feedback on the new look/concept though. Overly complicated if you don’t mind me saying. I agree a new thread per player linked is a good idea but it should all be on TOTT imo. As soon as a rumour is quashed, as per James Garner just now, the thread will naturally slip down the board. That’s how a forum is meant to work, no need for massive monolithic threads and sub boards imo.

Sorry but what was wrong with the previous thread? Wasn't that neater that it was only in one place rather than being spread out?
I could log on and within a minute skim through and be updated. Now I'll have to travel through threads (of which there will be many when every little sniff or mention gets a new one)
I liked the old one. It was simple and I wasn't a miserable moaner who couldn't just ignore the innate chatter.

According to Sky Sports Fulham have bid for Juan Foyth at Spurs and also interested in Craig Dawson from Watford. No mention of Kongolo.

Sorry but what was wrong with the previous thread? Wasn't that neater that it was only in one place rather than being spread out? I could log on and within a minute skim through and be updated. Now I'll have to travel through threads (of which there will be many when every little sniff or mention gets a new one) I liked the old one. It was simple and I wasn't a miserable moaner who couldn't just ignore the innate chatter. Exactly. All this will do is create numerous threads of pointless guff. |

How do you go back to the ‘Talk of the Town’ board easily. Once I’m in this sub board I need to go to the Home page then click on the Talk of the Town link. Is there a one click link?

Seems sensible to me. Easy enough to sort the reputable rumours from the rest - just have to look at who started the particular thread and ignore the rest.

Because like everyone else I support this club and I'm interested in who's signed or just general town chat. Just because I am privileged to find out a few names and movements doesn't mean I know everything and I like to see what people's thoughts are regarding players, I generally know names who's coming but not what whether they are any good. My knowledge is town and not much else. |

Also showing where administration of the board only requires two members and when and who proposed and seconded this and the result of the democratic vote. |
