Keep up the work Maynard - it's always interesting to read what might happen and that is the nature of football - it is always a might rarely a certainty. For what its worth, in and amongst all the transfer posts, I think the most important transfer was CC arriving from up the road. He has given me hope and interest in the team again, strange but I no longer watch a game think that we will automatically lose or worse still not get any players into the opposition box. Bringing him in might not have cost a lot but I'm sure paying off the Cowleys will have done. Just my opinion, there are those who understandably would have wanted the Cowleys to stay but I'm more confident with the current coaching team new signings or otherwise. Yes, I agree it’s always insightful and interesting to see what Maynard posts. We are very lucky to have someone that does risk coming on here to give us all a heads up. Maynard, don’t let the minority get to you. They are just envious that you know sumat and they don’t. They are sat waiting in eager anticipation of a deal not quite getting over the line, so they can say you was wrong and really, you know sweet FA. Nothing is certain in the transfer market until all the T’s are crossed and the i’s dotted. Shit happens.

Who is actually in charge of transfer negotiations? Bromby? From what i can see the players we’ve signed were not wanted by other clubs. We didn’t fight anyone off except Rotherham for Danny Ward, but lost out on several eg the lad from Man United. With months and months to plan for this transfer window as soon as it shuts were ringing agents of unemployed players begging. We didn’t want them before but please come now. Heads should roll. Was trying to think this morning of all the targets we’ve missed out on - Aaron’s, the lad from United, the defender from Everton...sure there’s been quite a few over the last couple of months. Not sure that we missed out on Gibson from Everton- we got Sarr. Nor the young lad from Manure- we got Eiting. Eiting is an upgrade on the manure fella and Sarr is a permanent signing who is well equipped and experienced at this level. Now missing out on signings yesterday, that’s a different story.

The mess up yesterday seems unforgivable. However, had it gone through, I guess many would have pointed out that we could have done so much better.

Bromby is solely in charge of the negotiations. He’s also woefully inexperienced and yesterdays events show he’s completely out of his depth.

Can the Aarons deal be rescued in some way? Appeal?
If we could get him and a free agent things might look better?

The other option being Newcastle negotiate an amount with him to pay his contract off as he's not going to play for them anyway, and he's only got 8 months left on it - and hey presto, he's a free agent.

I don’t know if I have lost my marbles
But we have had 3 in that I think are quality and got rid of 2 big wages
There is a list of unattached strikers who can be picked up
Disappointed we didn’t get a good goal scorer in but willing to give Carlos and some young guns a chance

Great gesture. Devlin will probably get his bowl out again and ask for a share from his time there.

Looks like a defensive midfielder by his stats
And 6 foot 3 so should win a few headers!

Any news on this Aarons appeal that was hinted at? I read something somewhere the other day about a club doing a international transfer and had their appeal turn down. They put the paperwork in two seconds late...so I guess we have no chance!

Been given the wink that “the next Jamie Vardy” is Max Watters at Crawley Town. Released by Doncaster after doing well at Maidstone and has scored three goals in two games since signing for Crawley. One to keep an eye on.

Didn't we have the real Jamie Vardy lined up but we turned up down because of his history as a bad lad?

Whose to say he'd of had the same success with us, every thing happens for a reason and it wasn't to be with us Don't go along with this 'everything happens for a reason' nonsense but I certainly agree that his career would have been nothing like it has been if he'd signed for us.

Early days, but with 17 games to go (23 played, half a season) until the January window opens, I wonder if Phil has a points threshold where the “plan” may waiver somewhat and he throws a bit more money at it than he would have in the hope of promotion.

Brilliant in the past, said we were getting a striker on loan a few weeks back when we signed Eiting and said 3 incoming this week. Deserves the upmost respect for the news he’s delivered on here over the past couple windows but he’s been well wide of the mark it appears Thanks for the back handed compliment. I don't need to justify myself but I said a striker was close, which it was as Grant leaving was close...til WBA backed out. I said I HOPED for 3 in, as everyone within the club was doing, and was still confident last night, honestly don't know what has gone wrong today but obviously plenty...however I believe we will be trying to partially rectify this over the weekend. It seems that my info isn't good enough for some on here, and people are also twisting my words so I'll be keeping my 'wide of the mark' info to myself for now. Cheers you can't please everyone. most of us appreciate your posts. Your the only person I follow on here and just check your recent posts rather than scroll through all the other transfer rumours. Most of your predictions are spot on an u can't be blamed for any wrong ones when things fuck up at the last minute
