Don't confuse the people who WERE running the club with the people who ARE running the club But doesn't the previous owner still have a large say in affairs with his 25% stake? The thing that grinds my gears is that you actually cannot fault the majority of our signings under his chairmanship, its just that right now our squad is paper thin and the gaps are glaring. Its not about chucking money like confetti its the frustration that we are a tweak or two away from really competing at the top end of the table yet we don't seem to be doing anything about it. How do you know they're not doing anything about it?

Maynard Blue stated earlier that 16 Oct is a more important date for us and that’s good enough for me. If there’s no incomings by then irrespective of who we sell, there really will be no excuse. Give the club another 11 days and let’s see where we are then.

Irrespective of this, some comment from the club about our (in)activity in this transfer window would be beneficial. PH appears to have done what he said he would do if he got constant stick and shut up shop.

People need to get their head out of the sand, football is fucked, the world is fucked. No one knows how things are going to look when this is all over and we need to be as secure as possible to ride it out. The money hasn't disappeared or been siphoned away, it's in the bank for when it's REALLY needed, not so some of you can have a few new toys now. The People running the club, are good, football people who want what's best for us, whether we like their decision or not. Our wage bill has to come down to comply with the impending salary cap and what other clubs do is no concern of ours, we've seen enough basket cases to know the mistakes that get made and who knows who the next one will be and the people running our club are being prudent to make sure it's not us. I apologise this is in the wrong thread. M Positive is one of the people running the club 😲😲😲😉😁

PH appears to have done what he said he would do if he got constant stick and shut up shop. Shouldn't be chairman of a football club in that case. He is the leader of a community organisation. Its not his football club, its the fans. COVID should have proved that to everyone, fans go and Devlin is on the BBC claiming football is on the brink of collapse. PH should be doing everything he can to engage with the fans and community during this crisis, the odd bit of poorly put together media doesn't cut the mustard. BBC radio Leeds are even saying every Saturday that they have requested interviews with PH or Devlin without the club offering any representation. Without that interaction all you get is fans putting their view across usually negatively and get Glennon trying manfully to defend the club on certain points without any ammunition from the club.

The last 2 pages on here have been the most informative of anything that has been said for 2 years.
If that’s how it is that we are banking money for the future security of the club then so be it. I and most others would be alright with that.
Doesn’t change the fact if we get relegated it’s complete false economy but if we stay up and find ourselves in a better position than most other clubs who can argue with that.

Hopefully all goes to plan over the next week, we offload Kongolo and Grant and bring in a couple of exciting forwards (either permanently or on loan from a prem club).
If we add some goalscorers then we have the makings of a decent team and have reduced our wage bill quite a bit from last season.

I think and hope the Grant sale will happen particularly as WBA didn't end up with Slimani or anyone else yesterday. Getting Kongolo and his glass foot / cocktail stick hamstrings through any sort of medical on the other hand....

If we are doing something about it then after 5 games and 1 goal we are doing a piss poor job of it.

In and amongst all the debate about where has all the cash gone (and I believe there's around £30m), and are we battening down the hatches to survive Covid, I wonder how Carlos feels, because one thing every interviewee would ask is " is there any money for new signings"... and I guess every Chairman answers "yes of course..". Now so far Carlos seems to be sorting out the team of players a bit but the final pieces of the jigsaw are clearly missing...to such an extent that the team has reached the best it can without these final pieces...imo.
If I was Carlos I'd be thinking okay i've done what I can with what I've got and what I've brought in so far...but the finishing touch is needed otherwise it's all a waste of time. Looking at the stats we're creating openings at a higher level then previous years but without the finisher, it's a bit like renovating the kitchen but you can't afford the worktops..

Cheap worktops now. Or good worktops when we know we can sensibly afford it?

I think most genuine, sensible posters on here are not expecting us to spend millions this window - & nor should we, with our track record, just as in Buxton's time, our best buys have been relatively cheap. However, if we do not replace some players in this window, we will be relegated &, as a fan base, we have every right to expect new signings because that is what Devlin promised us, something along the lines of "there's no point appointing CC & his new methods, if we don't back him with players".
You can't take Grant & Mounie's goals out of a very low scoring side & expect to score more, without replacing them. Even in this window, we have lost some big wage earners, there has to be some money spent because just think how much we will lose if we are relegated again.

Or pay to borrow a couple of good quality worktops to make sure we don’t burn the entire kitchen down by trying to cook on the floor?

For me it was CC's words after the Rotherham match that were most telling. He at least hinted, if not stated that he needed players in so he could work with them for two weeks before the restart. That hasn't happened, that's not supporting Carlos, that's an issue for me. OK we need to get grant and Kongolo out, but the squad needs more than two players to have any kind of depth. We need an entire front line and an attacking/creative midfielder, minimum. Covid OK, but we have 11000 season ticket holders, how much has income actually dropped? Did we take back over the catering side? Surely we aren't paying the £7 odd that each seat apparently cost only a few a years ago out of the £10 we received when the ticket prices were broken down for the 199 offer. If you wanted to strip a club, not spend any money and have the perfect excuse then Covid must be an absolute god send.

It's a massive 10 days for the club. Firstly to clear out the big earners & players that don't want to be here. Secondly to bring in some championship quality attacking players to help CC implement the style of play he's been brought in for.
With Sarr & Pipa the defence looks pretty much sorted, with Eiting & a returning O'brien the midfield looks decent aswell. It's just some attacking players that carry a goal threat that we're crying out for. Hopefully that issue gets sorted soon.

We have 11 days left with which to rectify that. If Grant stays ive no doubt he’ll be reintegrated into the team. It’s only 10 weeks then until the January window opens. It’s all cyclical. The results will return at some point, I just hope we haven’t sacrificed too much in the interim. we're only 3 points from the play off places....

Was on £45,000 a week at Watford prior to their relegation. I doubt it.

Only if he'll accept payment in the form of leftover pies in the club's freezer.
