We can't go into the season with the current goal threat - Ward and Campbell the only two strikers They promised CC the opportunity to build a team Not counting loans this window we've let 9 out; Grant, Mounie, Flo, Sobhi, Bockhorn, Kachunha, Quaner, Coleman, Simpson ... with Kongolo to make it 10 Again not counting loans we've signed 3; Ward, Pepa and Sarr 3 Counting loans we had 6 when we restarted (Lossl, Grabara, King, ESR, Chalobah and Willock) and we now have 2 loans in (Eitling and Perriera). You can argue that Mbenza and Diakhaby are back in from loan so at a stretch we're 2 lighter in the loan department than in June (and that was a side that only just stayed up) We have 2 goals in 5 games and "Own Goal" is our current top scorer" I hope we end with 3 in today - including a striker I expect we'll only get Aarons Excluding loans that would represnt 10 out and 4 in ... in shape is that helping CC overhaul the team. CC looks decent but isn't a miracle worker fair point, altho I would say that out of the 10 you refer to, 6 of them haven't played for us for the best part of 12 months, in Flo, Sobhi, Bockhorn, Quaner, Coleman and Kongolo. And if you refer to the loans, then I guess you have to also make reference to the players who were out on loan for the second half of last season too, i.e Mbenza, Diakhaby, Koroma, Crichlow, Edmonds-Green, Hamer, Schofield, Harratt. All of which look as though they are going to play there parts this season, regardless of how much you rate them or not. Lets see what today holds anyway, I'm expecting 2 in, but hopeful of 3. I don't mind promoting a handful of youngsters but for there development they can't all be thrown in together I actually see Koroma, REG and Critchlow as first team squad members now - so they've filled some of the gap I think Aarons and a couple of loans - even if just until January (10 weeks!) - is not risking the clubs future I worry if we don't find a goal threat then come January we'll need to throw money at it to try and retain our place in this league. The club need to hedge the risk IMO to reduce the possibility of that scenario Like you say though we'll see what today brings |

As the post above says, getting one or two in until January would be great. Then we have another 10 weeks of planning for the next window.
I'm sure the club will spring a surprise, they sometimes do.

Just seen someone having their photo taken down Canalside in front of the sign. I’d say in excess of 6 foot with dark hair, white. No idea who it was. Just seen a photo from yesterday. It’s Carlos!! Ooooops The big question is, can he play as a striker? |

Herbie Kane to Barnsley for £1.25m. Even they've got some cash! Luton signed Joe Morrell from Bristol yesterday as well - which won't have been a nominal amount Nearly all the Championship teams seem to be spending decent amounts regardless of Covid |

If it does work out that we only get Aarons and him only then Phil deserves every ounce of questioning/criticism he gets.

But if football gets cancelled again, we will be okay, other clubs won't. We have been sensible and I applaud PH for that, but surely 1 deal for a frontman isn't going to hinder us too much

Or that we have two recognised strikers; Ward averages a goal every 5 games over the past 3 years and Campbell is 33 years old and got 3 in 33 apps last season It's an obvious area of concern |
