Personally I think we should continue with the new way until the end of the transfer window and then have this poll.
There's not been enough time to get used to it and assess.

Slightly disingenuous thread title. Perfectly valid to have a poll but its not in individual posters gift to action a "democratic vote". Whilst I thought what Grim did was a bit daft broadly speaking the admins do a good job. Supernovak spouting on should have put the shivers up anyone who thinks otherwise. Fine to have a poll but not "democratic votes" whenever a few are unhappy with something

I'll make sure it goes before a vote when I'm formally announced as transferring to the Admin team.
However at the moment, ensuring democracy with a unrepresentative admin team of two. I sadly think you'll be wasting your time.
This board has over 10000 registered users. To expect two like minded people to be representative is obviously a major issue.
Need to have 5+ on the admin team the more the mwrrier and it to be as soft touch as possible. Yes Nick was a pain in the arse to 60% of the regular posters but he has his supporters.
Forums are for discussion and argument, They shouldn't be filtered to provide one like minded view.
Maybe Kenny and grim should become cheif admin and open up junior admin positions. The transfer thread just needed more help to remove posts that were off topic.
The new format is a shambles.

The main thing for me is the completely separate board, I don't look at the main page as much and I don't see why this can't be on the main page. I understand why this way works for Chelsea website because they have so many more people visiting, comments and rumours. But we don't, one thread for rumours and occasionally people will create a thread for the players separately. |

Separate board - Terrible idea, unnecessary, makes the board much harder to navigate on a pc let alone a tablet or phone.

As I recall, the reason why the original "single thread" was implemented a few years ago was because when people like townrwe were given free reign to post rumours as new threads, the entire first page of TOTT was dominated by nothing but rumours (most of which were nonsense), and threads on other topics just got lost.
The problem with the large thread was that, because it was (or at least it became) a general thread for transfer discussions, rumours would be lost in and amongst pages of people arguing about/discussing more general issues.
I think a middle ground would be sensible. Have the mega-thread pinned on the main board during the transfer window for people to discuss transfers generally. When a rumour pops up in and amongst that, a thread can be created in the transfer sub-board (preferably by the person with the rumour, but by admin in the alternative). That way, you get the best of all worlds. Those who want a general transfer discussion thread can have one. Those who are only interested in knowing which players have been rumoured, and discussing those rumours specifically, have somewhere to do so without giving someone like townrwe free reign to spam the main board.

I appreciate the effort to organize things better but the reality is now we have multiple threads to check to see if there are any worthwhile rumors instead of one. Not too bad on a desktop but a pain on mobile. Also the threads will still end up full of nonsense there will just be more.
I think the massive transfer thread with a confirmed thread for transfers ONLY after they are confirmed by the club is the best way to go. Would be nice if people would stop cluttering up the threads with idiotic arguments but there is not much you can do about that without making a lot of work for the admins.

I only have a phone if i want to go on t'internet but is it really that hard to click on the bit at the top of the main TOTT page that says Transfer Rumours?
Much easier than having to wade through the same old people spouting the same old shite about how bad the club is, how skint Phil is or the complexities of paying tax on transfers.

Its a spoilt paper from me.
I am not overly happy with the new look but it has allowed us to spend less time wading through arguments from people who cant imagine that anyone not seeing the light they have provided in their last post and then they go on to be affronted when someone has the audacity to actually disagree with them.
We then get a long drawn out diatribe of name calling and my dad can beat up your dad.
Having the "New transfer rumour sub-board" for the bickering, we only have to look for a new thread with a new name to be able to tell if there is anything worth reading.
As I write this there is the main posting or bickering thread another on Gotts who has no first team experience with Leeds and anyone else from what I have heard, this one on voting, one more on a player who has signed and then we are down to lets bring the good times back with players that used to play for us and have not really gone on to greater things elsewhere.
So if I had not bothered boring you all with my blinding insight I could have worked out that I did not have to spend more than 10 seconds seeing what was on this transfers area.

I don't understand why it has even been changed, who has done any form of poll or obtained a general consensus for it? (apologies if I have missed this if it has been done). We are in an active transfer window, the old topic was the most popular on the forum that people (myself included) would quickly log in on my phone where I could to quickly skim the last few pages in literally a minute or two. That has now been hidden away into a sub-forum with with no easy access back to the main board and with individual topics per player rumour making it extremely difficult to keep up with the latest happenings when you don't have all day to be clicking refresh in front of your computer... Think admins are wide of the mark with this which is supported by the survey within this topic.

And in doing a job I wouldn’t ever do have got carried away. It’s like a last of the summer wine version of Trump. I don’t know how the fuck they are representing, it’s not me, I doubt it’s you. They need to get their head out of their own arses and fucking realise real life and real people use this board and find it helpful.
In full disclosure I was banned for saying I’d never post again 2 years ago.
