At the time of writing, less than 25% (54/217) of voters of this poll say they like the current format. It makes more sense to be part of a minority, as long as you have the same opinion as the admins, than be part of an overwhelming majority. Why create divide over something that didn’t need such a radical change? The admins are loving this. This potential third admin needs to come ASAP, and ideally not be a friend of theirs. And at the time of writing just under 60% have declared that they don't like it. That kind of waters down your argument somewhat, doesn't it? Lies, damned lies and statistics.

I didn't like the new layout at first, but then I never used to like Guinness, sweetcorn or wanking off with my weaker hand.
But you get used to stuff and this whole thread is becoming a joke now. Slap an anchor on it and let's just move on for crying out loud.

We were "allowed to become admins"! We decided that two people who often look at things from a different perspective works well. Three may well slow adjudications down and gets a bit more complicated, but it is not out of the question that we may increase our number by one. Imagine how it was with 6 admins... nothing got done (apologies to all the great admins we had... I'm sure they'll agree it was a bit clunky). By the way, thank you for your interest in the position of DATM administrator. We'll let you know. You two conveniently deciding that two admins are the perfect number after you two became admins always reminds me of the Zig Ziglar story: He was one of 13 children. And one day he asked his mother what possessed her to have so many. She replied "Well, son, when do YOU think I should've stopped?" I'd ask the admins, would you have been just as happy to see the drawbridge pulled up if you were on the other side? I'm not particularly invested in keeping it at 2, but in terms of the reactive side of administering the site I think since it has been the two of us it has run a lot smoother - decisions are made quickly and we generally keep each other in check - there have been times when I'd happily pull the trigger on some and Kenny opts for a word in their ear instead and vice versa. Sure, we've had a few bones of contention with the wider membership reacting to decisions - Nick for example, and Enoch for another, but generally I think people can see that these aspects are undertaken by us with a degree of consistency and (as I have said already) a light touch. Sure, I can be a sarcastic and direct prick at times, but I;ve always maintained that it's unrealistic to expect any admin to be invisible when it's a voluntary and thankless task. The main issues that have caused eruptions of outrage have been attempts to tidy the site up - it's a cumbersome beast of a forum with threads dedicated to every aspect of life, but just football, and at times it has felt necessary to try and organise it a little - some have seen this as change for change's sake, others have accepted this as a genuine attempt to improve things. If we were to start the forum fresh now, for example, with this system no one would bat an eyelid and say "Oh, surely one massive thread where all rumours can get lost among general moaning, banter and irrelevant opinions about other things would be better". What really amuses me is that people have an image that we are sat at home touching ourselves at the thought of having pissed you all off, or are somehow getting off on it. One of my inherent personality flaws is a desire to be appreciated and validated (that's why I do stand up - we're all a but like that) so my actual hope was that people would have seen this change and said "It'll take some getting used to but it'll be worth it, what a good idea and how refreshing that our admin team didn't fanny about or ignore it when one of us presented it to them". But of course, this is 2020 and we all have to be angry about something. On the bright side, I've not delved into the politics sub board to argue the toss with the islamaphobes, xenophobes etc for a few days. So there is that. Oh, and Kenny and I have never met, we're not "friends" as such, Kindred spirits in many ways, yes, but I couldn't pick him out of a line up. Perhaps when Covid is all over we should put that right, Ken?

The comprehensive vote result at the top of this thread count for something, and should be at least considered?

Probably as an admin you should. Maybe that’s the problem. If you don’t give a fuck maybe you are doing the wrong thing.
When feedback gets I couldn’t give a fuck as a response there’s something wrong somewhere,
Why volunteer for something you couldn’t give a fuck about, what part of your personality is that satisfying and why? Is it an indication of some deep mummy issues. FFS do the job because you care or fuck off.
I want admins that actually give a fuck what posters think and how the forum is run.
That ain’t you people who couldn’t give a fuck.

Some little bar on the outskirts of Kirklees where you are not likely to run into other DATM users. Yes, I was thinking along the same lines.

Reading through all this poll thread. It's starting to feel like it has been set up just to have a pop at the admins!
I think this new sub board is better once you get used to it. Straight to the rumour or signing you are more interested in with no messing about.
If anything this poll thread is ruining it.

But if they close it down, they will get peters from the posters having a pop. No win situation.

If we wanted to pay up the dictatorship accusation, we'd delete your account and ban you IP address - at least that way we'd get some pleasure out of it. Tell you what, I'll do you a deal. You tell me the name of the next permanent signing Town will make and what day it will happen, right here right now - you get it right and you can be an admin, you get it wrong and you're banned from this sub-board and therefore cannot post about transfers. Deal expires at 5pm today, 23/9/20

Just a quick message to the admins.
Are you at least considering changing the format of the transfer thread back to how it was? I admire the attempt to change but surely you can see that it isn't going down well.
This forum is much needed for us Town fans and the enjoyment has been sucked out of the Transfers thread for both in, out, real, bullshit, sublime and ridiculous.
Again, the need to adapt and improve is vital, and I applaud you for trying it out, but after trying to get used to it for a while and seeing way over 90% of feedback being negative from other users, I think the stubbornness of the 'we've changed so get used to it' needs to be questioned.
Just wanted to enquire if you were at least considering reverting back to the old format?

The fact the sub board isn’t updated with new links and opinions every 30 seconds doesn’t so much show that no one wants to use it as much as there’s nowhere for the Knobheads to post 190+ pages of absolute drivel

The old threads with the same folk constantly arguing about the same shit, day after day after day, not even related to transfers, was tedious in the extreme. Personally I think the new format is much better. The only problem is the navigation and can see how this can confuse and frustrate; especially on a phone. Not sure if this could be made to work better, although is probably down to the limitations of the interface.
