Would love this rumour to be true but I thought Arteta said he would be part of his plans this season? Haven't they already rejected loans from top tier teams in Europe this window?

He did say that yes, but apparently wans to loan out again, i asked steven chicken on his Q&A last week and he said town not in for ESR as Arsenal want a team to pay his full wages and we cant afford that, i assume his previous loan here was either we payed so much towards his wages and they paid the rest or they paid his full wages for the duration i dont know, chicken dident elaborate on that one.

Wow a lad of 18 technically unproven paid a million in six months and that’s only a portion of his wage. Incredible sums

Wasnt the 1 million a loan fee and not his wages. The 1 million goes to Arsenal as a thank you for them letting us have him for 6 months. I think his wages were on top of this??? Happy to be corrected

Happy to be corrected Yes, but the implication above was that Arsenal want a loan fee to cover his salary which is higher than the last loan fee.

I love Smith Rowe, i think he could play for England one day.
But, i’m hoping this will be an uneventful boring season. What’s the point chucking 2 million quid at loan?

Weren't Arsenal one of the clubs to state they were using the furlough scheme then backtracked?
If they are insisting the loaning club pay his wages it sounds like another way for them to deal with cashflow issues?
It grates a lot, but if it is the case, how does he feel himself if his club are essentially putting a blocker in his way for getting some game time.
All hypothetical of course, but if close to the mark it proves what the number one priority is.
I wonder if some of these 'big picture' clubs would actually consider laying off their pro's, if their contracts allowed?

He proved more in those months than many of our top earners have combined in the last 2 years.

Didn't Arsenal loan us Afobe, then the poor lad was farmed out like some piece of meat to about a dozen clubs over the next few years? I felt sorry for the lad tbh, but it seems this is how the bigger clubs fund their massive youth systems allowing them to scoop up dozens of lads from around the globe and then basically prostitute them out.

I wonder if some of these 'big picture' clubs would actually consider laying off their pro's, if their contracts allowed? They used the furlough scheme and have recently sacked their mascot. They also just paid £50m cash for a player (they had to pay it all up front) and are paying him £250k a week. The big clubs all try and squeeze as much as possible out of loaning young players. Their academies are an investment and they need to see a return.

Only just read that Arteta had said back in July he wasn't going to let him go anywhere as he wanted to have a proper look at him so it seems like this was never on the table for us or anyone else for that matter. The only way he'd have let him go out was if they'd signed Aouar.
