Via examiner: "We have had it confirmed, Huddersfield Town’s bid to sign Ronaldo Aarons from Newcastle United is off. "The paperwork doesn’t appear to have gone through in time. "There will be no new arrivals at Town today." Well that was fun... As I said re: PR we really can’t even get the basics right. How can we not get the paperwork in properly and on time?! The recruitment team are as much of a shower as the PR team. |

I’ve got the sheets waiting for news. i think he meant everyone else had their sheets in, whereas town were still looking for ways to strip more player assets off and sell them. |

It wouldn’t surprise me if missing the deadline for Aarons was a cheap trick to get Toon to release him on a free and save us a few quid.

We've gone from him being a player that was useless and no one on here wanted to suddenly its a disaster that the paperwork hasn't gone through and we haven't signed him! That said I'm as surprised and disappointed as others that we haven't brought anyone in - even Barnsley managed to spend £1.5 million. Strange times at Town that's for sure.

He wasn’t an exciting replacement but he was atleast a replacement. Now we have lost our best goal scorer in a team that struggles to score so any replacement was better than no replacement |

I think Grants surprise move to WBA caught Town out. It only left them 24 hours to start looking who could we get in to replace him. Sadly not enough time.

I must admit its ridiculous that a professional outfit can't submit the correct paperwork on time - it isn't as though we didn't know the day and time that the transfer window closed!

So Josh didn't have any jewels to unearth? We spent all our money last year and in these times it's probably wise to go back to the bare bones of those left at the ground. Good job we are being kept away because our chairman would be hounded worse than Ken Davy. Always suspected he was put in charge to ensure his mate was fully recompensed. Neither will now leave anything but a nasty sour taste.

Just watching Bury - bringing football back on iplayer - its a good watch and the thing that struck me most was that the club was doing well whilst the Chairman's business' were doing well. When he struggled the club struggled and that was when he sold it for a £1 to the bloke who saw them disappear from the football league! Perhaps this should be on the finance thread - and I have no idea about the wealth of PH - I'm not making excuses but perhaps we should be happy to have a football club to support and worry less about the lack of signings. The Bury programme is a reality check in some respects.
