No no no, clubs aren't going down the pan. Stop making shit up. Clubs are still spending more on players and showing more ambition than us. Stop believing what Phil wants you to believe. ‘Making shit up’. Fuck me. I can’t be arsed to offer an explanation to this. You can’t see the woods for the trees. Let's leave it there and revisit at the end of the season when we can count how many clubs have gone bust as a result of covid.

Listen to Darragh MacAnthony's podcast and he'll explain why all football league chairman are having regular meetings.

How can anyone be disappointed with all the shit that is going on? A good day is making sure we have enough money to run the business for the foreseeable without any aid from some backhanded scheme from Premier League. Clubs are going to go down the pan and people are worried we may not sign a winger/striker/keeper/midfielder. Wake up. No no no, clubs aren't going down the pan. Stop making shit up. Clubs are still spending more on players and showing more ambition than us. Stop believing what Phil wants you to believe. Several Championship clubs could fold by Christmas unless they get funding, says Preston advisor Peter Ridsdale. The Premier League has offered a £50m rescue package to League One and Two clubs to help with Covid-19 losses. But talks with the EFL about how to help Championship sides are ongoing. "My guess is there are at least half a dozen (clubs) that when it gets to Christmas and there's no solution, a number of them may well fold or go into administration," Ridsdale said.

That clubs are spending large amounts does not mean they have anything but larger debt and much larger risk. Unless they can all reach the promised land the shit will hit the fan at some of them. I'm not frightened of CV19, had it no problems, I am incredibly nervous about what it will cost in business and personal finances, never mind excess other deaths. The way the country is trying to manage this crisis leads me to believe we will have huge numbers of deaths and very long lasting financial implications. Town being sensible about finances is a positive for me.

Luton and Rotherham signed players yesterday. Are they about to go bust? £200k for Morrell to Luton, and 2 loan signings for Rotherham? Perfect example of clubs being cautious

Luton and Rotherham signed players yesterday. Are they about to go bust? Every club has signed someone. But these are the spending facts. NET transfer spend for 2020/21:Barnsley: +£540K (i.e. they've received £540K more than they've spent) Birmingham: +£22.14m Blackburn: -£450K (i.e. they're spent £450K more than they've received)Bournemouth: +£79.25m Brentford: +£21.25m Bristol: +£3.69m Cardiff: -£1.49mCoventry: -£1.35mDerby: +£3.06m Town: +£18.72m Luton: 0 Middlesbrough: -£2.7mMillwall: 0 Norwich: +£31.6m Forest: +£5.68m Preston: -£1.35mQPR: +£9.63m Reading: -£2.07m Rotherham: -£248K Wednesday: -£999kSwansea: +£2.3m Stoke: -£1.28mWatford: +£42.75m Wycombe: 0 Pick out the silly money spenders in that lot. I bet we were spending net more than that in League One.

Looks like the reality check in the Championship might be beginning to kick in with staying in business this year beinga bit more important than the mad rush to the PL. I suggest these figures might also indicate that a number of clubs are nearer to the Administration route than we think and getting high earnersi off the books is a start in get costs down to balance with significantly reduced income.

Why is the deadline day transfer thread not on the transfers sub-board. Why hasn't the new system stopped all the threads descending into bickering? We have to visit multiple threads for multiple streams of bollocks now. This new set up sucks balls. Quite right. This will give you something to bicker about. Deadline thread moved to transfer rumours.

I bet we were spending net more than that in League One. Then look closer at the ones that are in a negative and you will see that some of them will be offset against a reduction in wages by getting rid of more players than they've brought in, or getting big earners off the books e.g Sheffield are -£1m but have managed to ship out Fletcher, Forestieri and Winnall which probably leaves them up overall.

Whilst you're probably right about Wednesday, I really hope you're not. If Covid is taking any clubs away with it then I hope theirs is one of the first.

No probably about it. Accepted wisdom round here is that both Fletcher and Forestieri were on £40k+ a week.

I’d rather have a few knock backs than aim too low and get our first choice. Too many players in the past have rocked up acting like they’d won a competition.

I've never known anyone cop so much flack on a forum yet not actually learn a single thing from it. You are the epitome of glutton for punishment yet you seem to love the ridicule. I suspect you're one of those strange types who pays a PVC clad woman in her 50s to walk you round wearing a dog lead and trample on your bollocks in stiletto heels.
