I would be happy to just get rid of the shithouses we currently employ.

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere but CC mentioned in an article for the examiner about players returning from injury that he now knew which players he had to work with for the rest of the season. It may well have been misinterpreted due to his English but it implied we were not getting anyone else.

How can anyone be disappointed with all the shit that is going on? A good day is making sure we have enough money to run the business for the foreseeable without any aid from some backhanded scheme from Premier League. Clubs are going to go down the pan and people are worried we may not sign a winger/striker/keeper/midfielder. Wake up.

Clubs are still spending more on players and showing more ambition than us. Stop believing what Phil wants you to believe.

Ssssshhhhhh don’t let this fact get in the way of anyone’s agendas. “We must spend and we must spend big” “This club are a joke and are definitely going into administration” These are just a couple of the comments that I keep reading, which couldn’t contradict each other more if you tried. And quite often I have seen the same person refer to both comments at different times

Unbelievable what planet some people are living in. Rescue packages the only way league one and two clubs are not going to go out of business. A number of championship clubs will be needing the same support. We are slightly better placed but if we keep on spending at current levels it's only a matter of time till we join them. Yet anyone who questions how a business the size of HTFC is sustainable under current circs is told to "stop making shit up" Do the same people go on licenced victualler forums (for example) and say the same to them?

And quite often I have seen the same person refer to both comments at different times Looking at the stats, it appears that Middlesbrough are the biggest NET transfer spenders, at +£2.7m. No doubt paid for, as has always been the case, out of the Chairman's big back pocket.

Why are other owners saying exactly the same thing to national media then? So you actually think a championship club will go down the pan this season? I'd say its about trying to get players and agents to be realistic with their demands more than the future of the club being in question.

I wonder what the sentiment is on the Bournemouth forum? A net transfer income of £79m, with a first 'full' (minus 15%) parachute payment and a billionaire owner.

I'd say its about trying to get players and agents to be realistic with their demands more than the future of the club being in question. Actually I asked you a question! I asked you if you were able to explain why owners of many football clubs in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 have expressed doubts, worries, concerns surrounding the long term future of their club. I mean, your conspiracy that Phil is simply using a global health pandemic (with an obvious economic impact) to avoid spending money and somehow that means he’s doing his job badly is a really terrible take. Really really bad.

Really really bad. Re-read the second part of my answer 🙄 I would say that the amount of money we have brought in with player sales and parachute payments and the lack of investment BACK into the side is really terrible. What have we lost in gate receipts? A few million? We have brought in excess of 50 million over the last season and despite that we have sold our two top scorers last season and replaced them with one injury prone striker. The way Phil bought the club from Dean Hoyle has gambled with the clubs existence. Using our income streams to buy the club has put us in peril, not the pandemic.

The other clubs haven’t sold off all their assets and most have competitive squads with multiple players who can score goals regularly. That’s all we’re asking for. Think some town fans would be happy playing in the northern counties league.

We still have to put out a competitive team

Why is the deadline day transfer thread not on the transfers sub-board. Why hasn't the new system stopped all the threads descending into bickering? We have to visit multiple threads for multiple streams of bollocks now. This new set up sucks balls.

Okay so in your last sentence you’ve said that we’re in peril, so why would we spend money? Because fans need to be entertained and one goal in 5 games isn't entertainment. We still have to put out a competitive team Okay so you would gamble with the future existence of Huddersfield Town, spending money that we potentially don’t have, in order for us to score a few more goals? I am absolutely astonished by your perception of this whole situation. One, that the pandemic has had little to no effect on EFL football clubs. Two that the club is in peril and the best way to deal with that is to spend money in order to score more goals. Surely the figures provided by a fellow poster above showing how small the total championship spend has been thus far go some way to illustrating how wary clubs in our division (clubs with wealthier owners) are of spending beyond means. This is not a window for risks, even calculated ones.

This is not a window for risks, even calculated ones. I’d argue the other clubs in this division have competent and balanced squads with multiple goal scorers. I’m all for being prudent but the least we should ask for is to be competitive against any team in the division. At the moment we seem to write ourselves off against any team outside the bottom 6.
