Notice he still hasn't signed his contract extension... maybe he doesn't like the direction the club is going. I respect Hoggy more than any other Town player before him. But you honestly could not blame him for considering his future at this stage of his career. You would expect the club to sort this today, even with his injury Hogg is worth keeping till July 2023, with plenty northern teams in the promotion hunt in League One, they could be lining up to sign him. Desperate to see him back at Luton on Saturday.......demoralising if he leaves.

Even if he's too old by the end of this contract to play regularly, I don't care. For everything he's given the club he deserves a new deal.

Absolute no brainer to give Hogg a new contract. He will be very difficult to replace and is one of the first names on the teamsheet. Good work.

I’d of given him a 10 year contract if he’d of landed a hoggmaker on both Pritchard and Diakhaby.
Well deserved.

I’ll say it.
Even if we sign a striker today, sell the midget and Diabolical for £...the signing of the new contract is the best business all day.

I’ve just read that Harry Arter may be moving clubs today. Bristol City are one of the potential clubs mentioned.
Hope he doesn’t go there, we’ve played them twice, need him to go to a club we are playing soon so he can get a nice “welcome” from Hoggy.

Great news. Think in terms of leadership it would have been a disaster to allow how Hogg to leave. Thered have been lots of clubs queueing up to have him in this division. Great he should get a testimonial year now and I could see him ending this new contract as a player/coach if he wants to.
I was really impressed by Valleja in that role against Stoke, so if he can keep that form up, maybe Hogg won;t be one of the automatic first names on the team sheet like he has been for so many seasons now? Or maybe Vallejo will be more of a threat to bacuna's starting position and will play in front of Hogg?
I feel less concerned if Hogg can't play now though having seen that one game.

Agree that Vallejo has done well. In my mind whilst his passing has been excellent, he doesn’t possess Hoggy’s ball winning capabilities so I see him more as a foil to work with Hogg rather than instead of him. You are right though, it’s good that we’ve found someone to cover for him when he needs a rest or is injured.

Who is the number 24 in the black shirt when they both collide like a pair of high speed trucks ? Nice to see they both just get up and carry on.

This is positive news - credit where it’s due for getting sorted
And well deserved
Continues to be one of our key players who should be at the core of what we should be looking to achieve - every year / manager this board suggest he won’t fit into a managers plans
Ever year he shows he’s irreplaceable
I don’t think we’ve won a game he’s missed this season - I may be wrong with that but not far off

Think Hogg was brilliant on Saturday, but mainly due to his technical side. I don't remember ever seeing a Hogg that pings passes across the pitch perfectly and that makes forward runs with purpose and success. Thought I was watching a complete different player, credit to himself and Carlos for his development on top of the already brilliant player we know.
