I'm sorry guys. I genuinely expected one of the deals over the line last night. Not sure your role or connection but not your fault we have incompetant people dealing with transfers. Fans have known, fans of other clubs have known, pundits, journalists have known we need a striker and have done for a while.

What irritates me the most, is we will now have radio silence from the club (again). Leaving everyone to come up with all sorts of reasons and theories as to why it didn't happen. All of this then paints the club in a bad light, and further widens the gap between fans and club. From my perspective it looks like we were panicking and trying desperately to get anyone and everyone over the line last night, whether that is actually the case or not nobody really knows. It's bloody frustrating though whichever way you look at it.

Doing one every once in a while might help calm everybody down. Whenever he does make a statement though, he usually comes out with some nonsense that will be directly contradicted at some point. For example - "We have 5 strikers..." We were linked with 5 in the space of a few hours last night!!

Danny Graham contract terminated by mutual consent at Sunderland in last few hours.Would therefore be a free agent, tho not sure if he's of any interest to us. 35 years old. 1 goal in 17 appearances over 18 months at League 1 level. Harratt & Philips might be better options tbh.

Look at the positives.
It’s better than the last transfer window.

I'm sorry guys. I genuinely expected one of the deals over the line last night. An apology is completely unnecessary , you provide the ordinary fans with excellent info, these things happen , I just hope we have enough in the locker to see us through to the end of this season.

Anyway, what’s done is done and moaning now won’t change anything.
Let’s hope lessons are learned for the summer.
Hope springs eternal and all that, constantly having a pop at Big Phil isn’t going to change a thing.
UTT.

I'm sorry guys. I genuinely expected one of the deals over the line last night. You shouldn't need to apologise for anything. Most of us appreciate the information you give us regardless of whether the club manage to get the deal(s) over the line or not. 100% 👌

It’s not common for the chairman of a football club to have regular dialogue with the supporters, we just got used to it.

PH is the “nearly man”. In the first interview he does from now, it’ll be who we nearly signed. It’s happened from day one (I think Kieran Dowell was the first) and is never his or the club’s fault. Always greedy clubs, players or agents to blame. I just hope Carlos doesn’t get fed up as what he’s done with this squad of players is much more than could be expected.

What a shambles. The club spent 30 days saying we didn’t need a striker then desperately tried to sign 5 yesterday. Failing to finalise every deal. Maynard confirmed we were still trying late into the night. Probably sat looking through a yellow pages for anyone who would save face on the cheap. Christ knows what our level of scouting and long term planning is like if this is how we conduct our business. The good news is that he found a bike shop for the next pedal for pounds Hello, Carlos. You're not still on about this striker, are you? I remember when strikers were strikers. I saw one at Maine Road when we lost 10-1... Proper cloggers who could put it over the stand. Look at those boots. Like kicking with a razor blade. Maybe next year, eh? How did you get on, Leigh? I think I found one. Walsall. Says he'll keep it until deadline day. You'd better give him a ring then. Bollocks. They've sold him to Luton. I were reet about those boots though.

We probably rang more clubs than JR Hartley rang bookshops when he was trying to buy his book on fly fishing.

Three long term signings and two short contract stop gaps. Two decent sized wages off the books. Not a bad window. A striker would have been nice but if the right one at the right price isn’t there then we wait and see what summer brings.
The club seem to have held their nerve and not panic bought so the question is can Carlos keep us firing well enough to stay clear of the drop zone. It must be a discussion the management had.
I would like us to buy players we really feel can make a difference in the longer term. We will see if the strategy works.

The narrative has changed. They’ve spent 5 months saying CC is happy with his squad. Now we know we were actually desperate to sign almost anyone to boost numbers. No way was CC involved in identifying the 5 we were linked with yesterday, all of whom had different playing styles and attributes. It was a car crash of a day for all involved which achieved nothing but undermining the messages put out by the club all season, showing the inability of the board to get deals over the line and highlighting the chasm that exists beteeen board, manager and fans. Surely the only reason the narrative has changed is because of injuries to the squad? Bit disappointed we didn’t bring someone in although it was pretty clear there was hardly anyone decent available too. We need our injured forwards (Ward, Koroma) back ASAP and we’ll be ok. We’ve added attackers in Aaron’s and Holmes and were moving to a much less punishing schedule which fingers crossed see’s a healthier squad. I think Koroma's out for the season effectively. He had an operation. I'm not convinced Ward will ever be fit.

It's 2045 and town have just re-signed 43 year old Kian Harratt from Cleckhuddersfax United as they aim to consolidate their B & M Conference Premier North position. Loyal Town fans call for patience as Phil Hodgkinson has only has 48 transfer windows and times are hard

Frustrating that he’s injured again, but I’d hope the management haven’t written him off yet. Also are we all sure Grant isn’t ready to feature at some point? It seems to have been decided that’s he’s not ready, did the club say that, as I missed it if so.

Teams around us and below us getting new recruits where as we’ll be seeing the exact same players doing the exact same thing whilst making no changes due to our low reinforcements on the bench.
Need to get a win and stop the rot, ASAP.

Last night was like watching a bloke trying to do his shopping in a motorway services at midnight on Christmas Eve. Happy Christmas, Carlos. Does your new ice scraper glove fit? And who doesn't like a tin of travel sweets and a Val Doonican CD, eh? Fantastic.
