Norwich . Southampton , man City Based on those clubs it’s got to be Boyer. Part of the strike force with Ted McDougall.

Thought it was (Phil) Boyer? Think you got it there. Can only remember him vaguely from MOTD - don't think I ever saw him play against Town, too busy watching 4th division football at that time :-)

Thought it was (Phil) Boyer? It is indeed Boyer, my fault! "Bowyer" activated the necessary brain cell to get there in the end :-)

Threads like this are fantastic, but it's hard to manage who hasn't 'Googled' the answers.

Was he on football cards? I can’t remember. I’m sure McDougall was. The football card daddy being Mick Coop from Coventry City

The last club who were previously champions of English football to play in the new fangled Premiership? Huh? That question is a bit vague, it doesn't really read right, it's not clear what you are asking. I assume the answer is Town but it's not very clear.

The last club who were previously champions of English football to play in the new fangled Premiership? Leeds? Nope. L**ds were the last winners of the old first division, but played in the Prem the following season. I'm looking for a former top flight winning club, that hasn't made it to the Prem in it's current format. (Only one left!)

The way it's worded, as I type it's probably Everton or Manchester United. We were the last of teams who've won the English top tier to start playing in the Premiership / Premier League. However as Preston haven't yet, I think there'd be a strong case to say they're the answer.
