Second left front row, far left middle Far too easy for you! OK then, Chris - what's the significance of the player back row, second left?

And another... Two names this time, please. FLR Volume 5 number 28, February 1971 Second left front row, far left middle Jim Fryatt, balding guy with ‘tache, back row. Wish we had him as a striker now. Knew where the net was, super partnership with Kevin Hector and Bobby Ham at BPA.

Second left front row, far left middle Far too easy for you! OK then, Chris - what's the significance of the player back row, second left? That he came from last night’s opponents? I know he only played a couple of times for Town and I didn’t see him, but I know who he is.

No - he is officially the scorer of the fastest ever Football League goal: four seconds, whilst appearing for Bradford Park Avenue against Tranmere Rovers on 25 April 1964. Died only last year. Because of that goal, his is a name engraved into my footballing brain.

I have a really good book about BPA and there’s a chapter on the goal. The way the goal was described there’s no chance it truly was scored in 4 seconds. Fryatt kicked off to start the game. The ball was played out to the right winger who advanced up the pitch and crossed for Fryatt to knock in from inside the penalty box. Don’t believe that could all have happened in 4 seconds.

Bob Latchford (with beard) who broke Terry Poole’s leg and Gordon Taylor (far right front, PFA). Others include Bob’s brother Dave the goalie, Geoff Vowden, Johnny Vincent (good player), Malcolm Beard, Trevor Francis...

Trevor Francis; twat of a manager who wouldn't sell us Ndlovu when we needed him.

Football League Review Volume 5 number 35, April 1971 Looks like at Blackburn to me, when we won 2-0. I was there. Him and Colin Dobson my two all-time favourites.
