Rights, lads... These are pretty straightforward, no matter what your age. Those of a more mature disposition will recognise player 4 and will know of his greatest ever contribution to the game!

A jolly tough one to start us off today, although could be done by identifying the player...

Okay...
1 = Swindon Town - can you name the player? Cap'n will... 2 = ?? 3 = Stoke City 4 = ??
Bear in mind that teams only ever appeared ONCE in this, and we've already had Sheffield United.

Swindon player is Don Rogers I think. Scored against Arsenal in the 1968? League Cup final when Swindon were in the old 3rd division.
Edit: It was 1969. Should have known that because Town got to the semis in '68!

And... here's some more HTAFC content. This is from issue 2 (402) Volume 4, somewhere round about September 1969. And it's wrong! That cloth badge was never the official club blazer badge; it was the Supporters' Club badge. The little enamel badge at the very top, however, WAS the official club badge. Still got mine from 1968!!

Chelsea Norwich Notts Forest West Brom - Tony “Bomber” Brown. Can't see it mentioned but his greatest contribution to the game? Wasn't it him who scored the "offside" goal (as they all waited for the flag which never materialised) which relegated our friends up the road

It was a game at Elland Road where Leeds needed to win to clinch the 1970/71 Championship. West Brom broke a Leeds attack and Brown's interception sent the ball over the half-way line where Colin Suggett was offside, but as Brown was chasing his own interception AND NOT PASSING TO SUGGETT he was allowed to run on by the referee who overruled his linesman's flag. Jeff Astle received the final pass and scored past Sprake as Leeds all stopped at the linesman's flag. Even the great Barry Davies got it wrong in his commentary - Leeds did NOT have every right to go mad. Play to the whistle, boys... Leeds lost the title to Arsenal by one point. Great day all around.

Yes, my mind is playing tricks on me more and more these days. Wasn't sure and wasn't going to google it, but I knew it buggered up their season one way or the other so all's good!
