How many seasons is it since we’ve won a cup game? Hardly a one off. Except at least we scored today. If ever there was a 3/1 banker...👍 I saw us at evens today and couldn’t believe it! Then I saw the line ups and understood why. It was bumped to 2/1 about 10 mins before KO. There was money to be made this weekend with Villa, Derby and Town. In fact you could have made a considerable profit cashing out bets before a ball was even kicked.

Might be the bourbon but Phillips reminded me in his style of play to Bamford. Anyone agree or shall I start on the soft drinks? There wasn’t a lot to see but the best way to describe it is i think he already plays like a man. Most of them still play like boys. I’m excited about him. I think he’ll score a lot of goals at whatever level he ends up playing.

I'll give you Pritchard, but who else? Well thats a start isnt it It's also a finish. Literally every other player in the squad was either injured or played a lot of games recently. You said, "There are out of favour first team players that could have been on the bench that didnt need resting". I invite you to name them.

There's clearly a REASON Pritchard wasn't played, just because we don't know what it is yet doesn't mean there isn't one.

Alex vallejo started the first 15 minutes absolutely horrendous but I tell you what he grew into the game and this lad can play. His off the ball movement is really good, comfortable on the ball and you could see him growing in confidence by the minute. A good run of games and he stays injury fee we could well have picked up a bargain

He offered the dynamism that hoggy just doesn't have. The Spanish Pirlo, like a young Mooy. Very impressive, Maybe he could slip in as a ball playing CB, but he looks a natural in hoggys role.

I saw somewhere it was 10/3 , I hate betting against Town though , so did not bother having a flutter , although after the changes I thought they would lose .More fool me I suppose , but the defeat really is not the end of the world , even though I am a little irritated. It would be nice, if for one season we went out to actually win a cup game. On to Towns next league game , all will be forgotten in a week or so anyway.

I don’t mind betting against Town if it wins me money! Softens the blow when we lose too.
The Plymouth odds given the team news from the press conference on Friday were too good to miss...

There seems to be two camps. Camp one, not particularly bothered about the cup, don’t mind the reserves playing and not the end of the world if we lose. Camp two, want to progress in the cup, want to see a strong team, disappointed if we lose or play a weakened team. For the record I was in camp two for decades, I am now camp one and have been for a good few years. I cannot understand how anyone, particularly posters who are generally quite reasonable, can not see that our players have been running on empty for the last couple of games, the same 11 grafting week in and week out due to a depleted squad, pushing that last ounce of energy and posters can honestly say they should have played yesterday and not rested for our next batch of 12 games in 49 days, pretty much one game every 4 days. If we had a full strength squad then there is no doubt we would have seen a mixture of experience and youth in the team yesterday, we don’t have that luxury. All this rubbish of mid table mediocracy, do you honestly think our manager has this mentality? 69 points to play for but he has already settled for mid table? I think not. The FA Cup’s fatal blow was 20 years ago when Man Utd withdrew, it’s been bleeding a slow death since. It’s great for smaller clubs for the life saving revenue and the chance to see clubs they may never meet in the league. For 40’ish clubs it’s a hindrance. That’s just the way it is now.

I was going to lump on at 3/1, but didn't really want to be watching hoping for a Plym victory. So just used a small free bet credit I had at Ladbrokes instead. Pocketed a few quid without risk, and enjoyed watching the efforts of our young'ns too !!!

At no point did I actually want Plymouth to win.

Phil is red faced version of the orange Donald Trump, who's pocketing the EPL money and transfer fees, and those fans not vilifying him are no different to the crackpots that stormed the Capitol. Yay 🙌 🤪

Ideally I'd have liked to see a few older heads in there to add a bit of nous. There was some good football played at times but also some real naivety. If any one of Schindler, Stearman or Elphick were available I'd have liked to see them in there. If Ward had been available, the need to give Campbell a rest would not have been so great.... etc. BUT they weren't. I'm surprised that Pritchard wasn't involved (although if he's talking to other clubs about a deal then I can see why having him cup-tied would not be good), but other than that, the only options were to play different kids or some tired first teamers.

I mean, it would make sense (I can't think of any other reason he'd be left out yesterday) but if there's a source that would be useful.

He got subbed off at HT v Scunthorpe reserves last week Which means nothing, it was almost certainly planned for him to only play 45. It was exactly the same as Duhaney, Brown and Vallejo. And what was the score when he was taken off ?
