Agreed but he was still earning more than most of the players. He won’t have signed for less than 20k a week, even allowing for the relegation clause and actually contributed less than Diakhaby and Pritchard and that’s saying something. There's not a cat in hells chance that we signed Hamer on anything remotely close to £20k per week. He was signed to be Lossl's understudy until he returned unfit from the WC. He was reported by the Star to be on £8k per week at Leicester. Even Town wouldn't be daft enough to sign a reserve keeper on £20k per week. www.dailystar.co.uk/pics/pictures/gallery/every-leicester-stars-weekly-wages-18684769I don’t pretend to have inside info but i think you might be surprised what Leicester’s reserve keeper earns. I think there was a lot more to his signing than under study to Lossl. Something very strange happened with Lossl and his contract and had Hamer not turned out to be garbage he’d of struggled to get back in the team.

He did OK this season, starting from a bar so low that even a midget couldn't limbo underneath it, but let's not pretend he was anywhere remotely close to decent for us. That home game in the relegation season vs Leicester sticks in my mind, the first and especially the third goal (🤣🤣) that he let in were laughably abysmal.... www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11685997/huddersfield-1-4-leicester

That summed up our season. Pretty sure it was at Bristol City though.

When he uses that 'technique' to try and make a save, he stops no shots he faces. It annoyed the hell out of me. Like he's an actor playing the role of a goalkeeper and doesn't actually know what to do.

Tells you everything you need to know. A largely awful goalkeeper who somehow has mangled a final contract at 33

Good bit of business by the club to get some money out of Swansea for him. Decent wage off too

In 10 years when anyone mentions ex keepers i’ll remember Hamer in the same bracket as Tim Clarke.

We might do if Schofield gets injured cos Periera is even worse!!!!! Well I’m assuming Hamer is being replaced with someone who will compete for the No. 1 jersey with Schofield as clearly Periera is not up to the job.

So am I, but unfortunately that may not be until the summer - unless we can cancel Periera's loan this month.

In 10 years when anyone mentions ex keepers i’ll remember Hamer in the same bracket as Tim Clarke. Hamers career as a keeper reminds me of the time I blagged a job as a tree surgeon, earning a decent wage, despite knowing fuck all about it.My career went tits-up though when I was asked to perform a triple bypass on a sycamore tree.

He was much better this season but for me he will always be remembered as the keeper who passed a goal kick off for a corner.

Jacob Chapman is quite a decent keeper, would rather throw him on ahead of Perreria if we needed to

Never good enough for this level. Good business to offload him but I doubt he'll shine at Swansea.

I still struggle to believe we signed a keeper known at his previous club as Poppadom Hands!
The only possible explanation is we are not actually paying him and Man United are.

He was shite, let’s be honest. As soon as we knew he was in goal we knew we’d have to score 3 to get summat.
Yes he was a bit better this season but let’s be honest, he’s poor. Glad he’s gone and off our wage books.

He was the Charlton goalie when they stormed League One, he did okay for us this season in the Champ and he did ok for Derby too.
He certainly did have some shockers for us, mainly over a short spell of games in the Prem, and including that ridiculous corner, but some of the comments on here say more about the person making them than Ben Hamer.
