Just seen on Sky Sports News that Hamer is very close to joining Swansea.... anyone heard owt about this?

I would be amazed if Swansea signed him tbh, he wont be on small wages, and I really dont know what they have seen in him tbh. He was been pretty woeful for us bar the odd game, and Derby reckon they would have had a lot more points without him in goal. Its a good move for the lad and another decent wage probably, but I dont really understand what they have seen in him, to think he is a safe pair of hands.

He will have been on decent wages too. Looks like they have faith in schofield as 1st choice and Pereira on the bench. I’d be amazed if he has any faith in Pereira. Surely he goes back if we have the option to end his loan. He was a bomb scare at Stoke. |

Finally. Brilliant news if true. I'm not one of these who thought he'd suddenly come good at 33 years of age because of one save against Forest on telly. Utter shite, one of the worst keepers we've ever had. Good luck, good riddance.

I’m delaying texting my Swans supporting mate until it’s official. I’m afraid he’d contact the club if I told him what I thought of Hamer before it was completed.

Good luck to him, shameful some of the abuse he got in his time here. Glad he redeemed himself this season and looks to have got himself a good final move of his career.
Signed on PL wages so probably good for us too now Schofield has the jersey.

For me, despite his previous performances, he’s worked very hard to put all of that behind him and has shown great character in doing so.

If he goes it will have turned out pretty well all round. He has been much improved this season for us and part of the new ethos Carlos is building. I don't think he was going to get a new contract in the summer and it drops the wage bill a bit. I just hope either Schofield doesn't get injured or Pereira has improved since he last took the field for us. Bit of a risk but if he has the chance to move I doubt the club would want to stop him. As improved as he has been he has never filled me with confidence. It will be interesting to see how we fill the goalkeepers gaps in the summer.

Good luck to him. Whatever happened to ‘Be kind’ ? Agreed on that. He's earned a lot of respect from me by coming back & showing the strength of character to do a decent job for us. Will leave with my best wishes but if we can get a suitable replacement then it may prove to be best for all parties. |

Never really clicked at Town for him, a move would be good for everyone. He's not a bad keeper, just not as good as schofield already.

His honesty at how things hadn't gone well for him and taking responsibility said volumes about his attitude and character. Good luck to him if he does go.
My worry is we are then left with poor back up for RS.

I’m I ahead of the curve here or badly deluded and miles behind but I’ve just seen on line that Hamer is joining Swansea, their first deal of the window, on a free for 18 months and will debut vs Barnsley at the weekend ! There was paper talk of this yesterday, but nothing has been announced on the Official site. The move makes sense for Hamer, but unless there's a better/cheaper replacement lined up to come in immediately (and I've not heard/read a single rumour) then it's absolute lunacy on our part. Even if Pereira proves me wrong, you need 3 goalkeepers in the squad, and at least 1 of them with a decent level of experience. Without that (and particularly given the doubts about Pereira's capability) this is putting ridiculous pressure on Schofield to not just maintain his form but also not get injured or suspended. |

Good to get him off the wage bill but we need a replacement and unless he’s significantly cheaper it doesn’t make a great deal of sense.
