I imagine we'll have the same targets regardless, which is depressing. There's a £2.5k wage cap in League One for new contracts, so hopefully we'll have different lists for strikers! The salary caps have been scrapped www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55997868

Need to stay in the league before we think about the summer. On another note I see that the Walsall striker that we were linked with who signed for Luton got a goal and MOM on his debut. Typical. The one where we spent days trying to do a deal then took our bat & ball home on the morning of deadline day, Luton came in at 5pm & got the deal done in a few hours? That striker?

Good to see the PFA still living in the world of make believe and shafting this sensible idea.

I'd have him, one of my cousins is a Sunderland fan and he says he's one of their best players. Plenty of talent in league one that can be great on the championship, we just have to be willing to pay up.

End of the season Schindler, Elphick, Stearman & Keogh's contracts all up. Assuming we don't renew any of them we'll need a right sided CB regardless of which division we're in. Sounds decent from what I hear.

It says how far we've fallen, so quickly, when Preston feel they can cherry-pick our best players.

I'm pretty sure we'd be interested in signing Messi in the summer as well and at least he's available Based on the fact that the coaching staff think he's a better finisher than Grant, the bidding starts at £15M - which rules out all bar around 15 clubs in the country!

Jerry Yates from Blackpool has been linked for £2m.
Notts Forest, Blackburn, and Bristol City are all also interested.

The 30-year-old is the captain of championship club Huddersfield Town, where his contract expires in the summer. In December, the central defender sustained a serious knee injury, and Schindler is currently working on his comeback. Market value Christopher Schindler C. Schindler Center-back 2.00 Million € According to the report, FCN sports director Dieter Hecking and trainer Robert Klauss Schindler have already presented their plans. No rumour, but I’ve been told good things about Matt Jay at Exeter City this season. I thought he looked OK on the few occasions I saw him last season. Only small but fairly strong and nippy, could be a good partner for Jordan Rhodes if there’s any truth in that rumour.

It’s no secret Rhodes is probably happening, the club haven’t squashed the rumour either which is normally a key indicator. Is he good enough to lead the line the way we play? Goal scorer yes, but he’s never done the Campbell side of it, I.e putting the hard yards in.

I've said it on here before, but Rhodes needs an arm around his shoulder. Anyone pointing out his recent record needs to look at how Middleborough and Wednesday used him. Promise to start him for 10 consecutive games, even if he doesn't score for nine, and he'll do a good job in the Championship.

Yeah, I know Hogg is still here, but this is the last of those signings when you didn't know who the hell he was when he came, but you loved him by his third game. Shame he will not get the send off he deserves. Can't wait for that Wagner-era reunion dinner in 20 years.

Rhodes is a striker that you can throw on for the last 30 in a game and would probably worry a back 4. We’ve not many of them currently
