Lots of work to be done & by the sounds of things 4 players are already signed. We need a couple of GKs, Macgillivray at Portsmouth or Ruddy who'll be a free agent in the summer would both be solid additions. At CB we will need 2 or 3 presuming Schindler, Stearman & Keogh won't be here. One player I'd definitely have back is Stankovic although I doubt we could afford him now. Dominic Hyam at Coventry looks solid & could be a free agent if they don't trigger his extension, although I suspect they will. We need a pair of wing backs to provide solid cover/competition for Pipa & Toff. League 1 have some decent players in those positions that shouldn't cost the earth. Guiness-Walker, Sanderson & O'Nien? Sanderson was obviously loaned from the Premier league but has had a good season at Sunderland. Midfield is an area that needs looking at although I'd look to extend Vallejo's contract & try sign Eiting permanently but maybe someone like Tommy Doyle at Man city on loan? RW needs looking at especially if they don't trigger Mbenza’s extension, although if they do I think it'll be to try get a fee for him. Berko from 2.bundesliga was strongly linked not too long ago but I know very little about him tbf. Maybe a premier league loan? Strikers are an area that needs attention. Looks like Rhodes is one of the players already signed, Dion Charles has been linked recently & has had a good season at Accrington would give us a different option. The last thing we need is a forward line of 30 somethings. Maybe a good loan in this area aswell? The free agents market will be flooded in the summer so I suspect most of our shopping will be done here but we should still be looking at paying fees for the right players & look at loaning in promising young players. If Wednesday go down I’d be straight after Westwood for GK, think we were linking last season. Would be a very solid option and give Schofield some breathing time to improve his game whether on loan or with the B team and playing in our annual 2 cup games a year.

GK - I’d go for Ethan Horvath who is available on a free transfer from Club Brugge at end of season. 26, was highly rated and has made some
USA squads. Coming into his prime. Schofield and Chapman backups.
CB - Kevin Long is available on a free from Burnley and would be a good addition. Jimmy Dunne also has his contract expiring too, another Irish CB from Burnley who is a bit better with the ball at his feet. Young Warren O’Hora has had a good season at MK Dons and we could get him on loan from Brighton.
CM - Sebastian Cristoforo available on free from Girona. Career has gone downward the last few years but he has played for Uruguay internationally and would be a real statement of intent. Controversial but Jamie Shackleton on loan from Leeds would be decent too if they decide to recruit more this summer.
AM - Jamie Paterson on a free.
ST - Nketiah on loan and James Collins on a free.

Mowatt has probably increased his stock this past 18 months and will be going to a bigger club if Barnsley stay down.
Sammy Ameobi would be of interest but as a left winger cutting in he is another Koroma/Aarons/Thomas so can’t envisage it happening.
Bradley at Luton would be that charismatic tough tackling centre half we need but, brutal honesty, if he was good enough he wouldn’t be leaving Luton.
Think on the whole the championship released list will either be high earning dossers like we need rid of already or promising players who are on to bigger things .
Be more promising looking at young prem players or foreign clubs like Parma who’ve just gone down
Kean Bradley from Sheff U or Jimmy Dunne from Burnley . Gudmundsson from Burnley too . Lee Evans from Wigan.

20/21 - 35 appearances 7 goals
19/20 - 19 appearances 3 goals
18/19 - 36 appearances 6 goals
I'm not against him coming back but his numbers have definitely tailed off. Still, as a free signing and in the right set up could be just what we need.

I don't think that anybody would seriously be comparing Jordan Rhodes and Fraser Campbell as goalscorers would they ? |
