One thing I must have missed. Although Campbell was taken off on Tuesday, I didn't realise he was injured. Can you confirm, because if he is injured we are in a right pickle. Yup...confirmed by CC post-match >> H

I cant wait to see this lad. 12 goals in 7 years....a strike rate better than anything we have seen in years.

Yup...confirmed by CC post-match >> Where does he say Campbell is injured? The bit where he says - “Fraizer Campbell had an abdominal issue and did not feel he could continue after half time.” He came off injured / sick / ill, thats all. Might have been fine in training the morning after for all we know...but abdominal issue off the back of the way he plays its probably not that unexpected that he would stretch something to a lesser or greater degree.

I hadn’t seen this comment re Campbell. It was only a matter of time before he got injured , though hopefully his going off was precautionary. I just cannot ever remember a season like this for injuries. There was one where Horton was in charge where we used about 50 players in one season in the 90's. Yeah and there was also that time in the 50’s when we used 90 players.

Just start phillips, all this not ready and work in progress crap. Norman whiteside scored winning fa cup final goal at 17 yrs old in 1985. How are these players supposed to progress? Never get anything at preston nob end anyway, settle for a draw now👍👍

Get him on the bench on Saturday Ffs how fit does he have to be to kick or head a ball into a net,he's not a Roman Gladiator going out to fight a fukin lion Agree. Especially if Campbell’s not playing. Wow that sounds like a comment from the 1970s!

Couple of comments ....
Digs’ post about not being a gladiator.... funny and true. Get him on for twenty minutes at the end. No one’s gonna get killed!!
Danny Ward .... Terriertim.... probably onto something😊. What a waste of fucking money he has turned out to be.

Never get anything at preston nob end anyway, settle for a draw now👍👍 The problem is, those examples held up like Norman Whiteside or Denis Law or Wayne Rooney etc, turn out to be very very very good, international level players...its no wonder they shone from an early age. Phillips hasn't been starting ahead of Campbell for a reason.

get em in, shearer was put straight in & got an hat-trick at barnsley Just to confirm, Phillips is highly unlikely to be as good as Shearer, in addition to Whiteside, Law and Rooney! This whole approach is a bit like saying, "well Ian Wright turned out alright, lets find out which 21/22 year olds are applying for plastering apprenticeships and throw them in, they'll be good enough".

Looks like we've found a striker who gets smaller when he jumps

Almost had a very nice assist tonight. Wasn't for his team but it's a better start than most of the guys we've brought in since relegation.

Did he touch the ball? I think I'd zoned out by the end from sheer boredom.

Oh dear, big is not always better. The cheap option. Looks like a giraffe who has lost his mother. He will, by default, score the odd goal. A Championship player he is not.

Agree he was useless but we knew we were signing a bloke who hasn’t played for a year
But tonight he should have been thrown on for 30 minutes
He isnt going to get match fit on the bench - we either play him and get him fit or he’ll have a training injury and be next seen in May
Although to be fair by Duane Holmes’ twentieth corner he’d realised were aiming for the goal not the other corner flag - on the bright side at least he beat the first man ... just a shame about the other 18 in the box as well

Looks like we've found a striker who gets smaller when he jumps Strange today as he won everything and held the ball up really well on Saturday. Still, looks like he's been judged on his 6 minutes plus injury time today.

Let’s be fair. He’s surely not played enough to be judged yet. You can’t just step on the pitch and immediately pick up the pace of a game.
Maybe when chasing a goal, Carlos could give him a bit longer rather than putting on Scott High.

What was the point in signing him. 6 mins when we are needing to win the game.

I'd start him tonight. Fuck it, why not? We know Cardiff will be a big side and try to dominate set pieces.
