I've worked in mills in Yorkshire and Lancashire, and the lancastrians were the better people. Easier to work with, more sociable, fewer arseholes, harder working, more sincere. Having said that, my boss (greek fella) - absolute cockwomble. If I ever happen to come back to the UK, I doubt I'll head back to Yorkshire though. Much better places in the country to live and work. If I was able to retire anywhere - North Wales. If I was still working, we'd head to Hampshire where the missus originates from. Birchencliffe is pretty acurate with his observations imo. Funny you should mention North Wales. My wife is from there, before all this bullshit happened we used to go back regularly to see her family and friends. I love it there but they really hate the English đ

I've lived and worked in the med and middle East. This place is fuckin grim compared to them. And people in those parts of the world are far more generous despite their poverty.

We are the best county in the country. If you set aside the bad stuff that every region in the country has, not just us. We have: Historical old Mill Towns Some of the best scenery in the country ( best imo ) The best coastline in the country Sporting Heritage deep rooted within the people. Original humour / grumpiness Beer - better than anywhere else Fish n Chips - Have you ever had these down South? If Yorkshire is so bad, why does it feature so often on Films and TV? Easy to take it for granted. As an outsider, I agree with everything except the beer. The only good thing about the regional beers were that if I drank enough of them I'd forget the taste.

The Yorkshire Dale's has the most beautiful scenery on Gods green earth. Ever been to France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland? I could go on.

They will happily take your money, but I doubt they'd be too forthcoming in transactions the other way.

We've found a little ski resort in the Southern Alps called Valmeinier. Absolutely stunning place. Driving through France is like driving down the M1 though, mile after mile after mile of never changing scenery.

sometimes I think Yorkshire is much more like some cracked state of mind rather than just a region!

Iâve travelled extensively to America, the Far East, South America and Europe. At least 30 countries in my 46 years, and the people of these hills are some of the most genuine, warm and welcoming you will find. Lots of places you travel nobody will even look you in the eye and talk to you, they do round here. Fuckin hell what is this thread about? Letâs punch ourselves in the balls repeatedly because that will improve things?

If I have to fill out anything that asks for nationality I put Yorkshire. Far prouder to be Yorkshire than English or British I'm proud to be a human. I don't trust tribalism or nationalism.

Lived in North Wales since the mid eighties.Horrible to say, after I visit my old man or a game cannot wait to get back over the M62.Never thought I would ever think that. Wales has some stunning scenery, some of the people are a bit iffy though.

On the occasions when I have to travel outside âGods Countryâ thereâs nothing like the welcoming site of Emley Moor mast in the distance.

Used to sit and watch the sun set over the Irish sea while having a few cans, absolutely loved it. Even the drive over was stunning, from Runcorn on there was always something to take your eye. One of the things I miss about the UK.

I think youâre lucky that itâs a really poor Championship this season but you canât be happy how the last couple of years have gone. It must be down to the transfer business during the summer you stayed in the PL?!
