What were folk thinking we were gonna get for a player who has a £10m clause and one that’s out of contract in 12 months and won’t sign a new one??
Personally I think we’re only £1m shy of their retail value. But it may be that the instalments for paying less for LOB are better and we get a better sell on clause / bonus’.

If the up front deal is £10 million, for Lewis & Toffs, then they've had our pants down! Has Dean lost his touch, touch it would have been £12 million, plus extras. Look at the deal PH negotiated with WBA, piss poor in my opinion! The interests of Dean Hoyle and Phil hodgkinson are very different.. short term and long term. Debts and loans, Owner and seller etc.

Hopefully we've got a couple of decent replacements lined up. Surely we can spend a 1/4 of the fees received Don't get your hopes up, the replacements are already here. I still expect a loan possibly 2. This is what Htafc35 is referring to

I don't know how much we have got for Lewis. But those folks castigating the club for not getting more are ignoring the basics of supply and demand. No matter what you think a player is worth, the price will be governed by whatever someone is willing to pay. The alternative would be to keep the player, but that was never going to happen. The release clause was £10 million, blows your theory apart! What's the point of agreeing to a £10 million release clause, in a contract, if you don't stick to it? Diabolical Dean Hoyle!

Is it better to keep two players who don’t want to be here and want to triple / quadruple there wages in the Prem, or get a decent deal for both players that should work well for us long term and short term. We have seen only a few seasons ago how having players not wanting to be here really hinders the team moral, we want players who want to play for the club and want to move to the next level like Toff and LOB zap they play there best while with us these two are exactly the characters we want in our team, not the ones just here for money.

Toffs not going to knock his pan out if we didn't sell. Best to get a deal done and move on.

Who is ‘us’? It only works well for the fanbase in the short term if it is reinvested in players that we badly need to be competitive. And it sounds like that is unlikely (though things may change) to happen.

I tell you now it’s over 50% of the fees we will receive from the trees. We have to be self sufficient especially right now when we don’t technically have an owner, it’s not about DH wanting his money back it’s about DH not wanting to throw more money daily into the club that he doesn’t currently own. LOB we have no choice and can not keep here it’s been agreed a long time if we didn’t go up he could move, Toff why would we keep him and lose for nothing makes no sense.

But come on, does he think that we are all stupid?

LOB agreed to a new contract when he didn't have to. Could have played it like Toffs did but didn't. Of course something could have been understood between them.

What’s the betting that we’ve allowed such a cheap fee for both because Forest are willing to pay it in one instalment thus meaning that Dean doesn’t have to wait around for a few years for his cash. Nice 10 million repayment straight into the bank I doubt it. Why do you doubt it? Dean wanting short term cash influx before seeking a new buyer. Still has himself installed as chief executive; answerable to no one and can dictate anything he wants without much getting out. The only way we have sold both players for lower than o’briens buyout clause (yes I repeat both players; not even O’Brien himself which is a travesty) is purely in the interests of Dean and not htafc; much like the past five years have been

We negotiated a very good deal in the end and didn’t just take the first offers.

Just watched the Wembley game back and could actually lip read what Lewis and Harry were saying to Moss after the fouls.
I dived ref, no foul, please don’t give the pen, you’ll cost me 20k a week.

Ok we don’t have a sugar daddy in charge, but when you have a great season and were a dodgy ref call away from the jackpot, surely you don’t rip everything up and start again like we have. Out of interest, if Dean was to take in £10m and sell up this week would your opinion change?

Very few clubs do.

The transfer business so far this summer appears to have already cost Town a very promising manager.

O brien is a huge loas for the club . Not as sure about Toffolo . He had a storming end to the season with all them weird goals but earlier in the season he had been pretty average and at one point was dropped for the other lad

What have we ripped up from where I see it we have continued in the same way invest in fantastic prospects, strengthen the team, sell players who want to move in for good money, we are not finished yet either. Carlos leaving was not part of the plan, but was also out of anyones control, just like the players leaving you don’t keep a coach who doesn’t want to be here.

Are you basing that opinion on what some journalist from the Telegraph has had a guess at?

It doesn't blow his theory apart at all. Supply and demand is totally relevant. If it was so obvious he is worth more, someone else would've been in for him and offered more. A release clause isn't a sale price, rather just effectively the maximum.
