Just in case anyone needed to be reminded of how fucking awful that goal was. It'll be one of those What Happened Next clips on Question of Sport in years to come.

Its our utter desperation to keep the ball in play and/or try to force passes that is killing us and has done for a few years now. Just let the fucking thing go out if you're gonna give them a goal scoring opportunity. Both Thomas and then Schofield. The number of times we achieve a shocking failure from being on the brink of shooting/creating a chance is unbelievable. The incessant backwards and sidewards passing is ludicrous.
Rather than an attack coming to nothing, we'd seem to rather that we lost the ball in our own half or edge of our box.

I join in with all the funny posts about Schofield - if you didn’t laugh you’d cry but I do feel sorry for the lad genuinely. After his displays last season how it could ever of been considered that he was a Championship No 1 is beyond my understanding - we’ve all been saying this for the last 12 months. It’s the fault of the people that pick him - he should be taken out of the firing line quickly before his confidence suffers beyond repair. I ve felt like this for a while. Playing him at this level is destroying any future he may have.

I'm not blaming the players. football is a simple game and when you make it too complicated for players to understand you end up with performances like todays.
Strangely it reminded me of Robins's final game in charge of us. He looked as out of his depth that day as Carlos did today.

Just in case anyone needed to be reminded of how fucking awful that goal was. The view from behind the goal - who kicks like that?! I'm 41, never played beyond "sunday league" level, and I could have still wellied that ball up near halfway, especially if kicking a ball was something I got the chance to practice every single day. I'm blocking myself from commenting on this lad anymore as he just boils my piss.

I see lots of posts saying Schofield needs loaning out to a L1 or L2 side. Why the hell would any L1 or L2 side want to take him on? He simply isn’t good enough for that level. Sorry and all that.

He needs a few good sprays of rescue remedy before he steps on to the pitch

He’s just not good enough. He’s had a run at it for more than half a season, which is more than most young players get. But he’s done. They need to get someone else in to compete with Nicholls.

Can anyone tell me what he offers apart from his shot stopping? That seems to be his only attribute which isn't garbage.

With all the scumbags who have demolished our club over the last 3 years, the academy keeper thrust into 1st team action behind a team full of cloggers should not be getting any stick from fans. But he is rubbish

He’s not low on confidence or strength, he’s just utterly useless.

He's not having a great time, and just needs a bit of break and another keeper to come and take the pressure off him, he's still a young lad, fuck knows how he's coping at the moment, I wouldn't be.
My opinion, think we need to ease off him a bit. Those in the south stand who were sarcastically cheering when he catching balls in the warm up to the second half, you should all go and fuck yourselves

I’ve been out for dinner, had a few pints, come home, just watched that & burst out laughing. Actually had to watch it 3 times to make sure it wasn’t “doctored”. It’s like Laurel & Hardy meets The Keystone Cops. Would be fuckin hilarious if it weren’t for the fact it was us. Embarrassing is the only way to describe it.

I’m assuming Nicholls will be back for Tuesday because having Schofield between the sticks isn’t really an option.

He simply is not good enough, strong enough, confident enough. The list goes on.

He doesn't need a break he needs to leave, find his level and go have a decent career wherever that is. Football is a ruthless industry and especially for a goalkeeper there is nowhere to hide and he's just not up to it at this level.

Schofield is not and never will be Champ quality.
However this isn’t entirely down to him. He hasn’t got the talent, clearly. But the common denominator across the last few years with our shocking keeping has been the coach, Paul Clement. Said it before and will say it again, he has to bear responsibility too. So if Corberan, Bromby, et al go, Clement has to also.

Smash float away balls at them for 20 mins, scream at them a bit as motivation, lob some crosses in for them to catch, run down to the half way line so they can practice goal kicks to you etc etc. Im sure there's plenty more to it but it looks a doddle

He's still very young for a goalkeeper, but I agree it maybe looks like his distribution and general composure will not be good enough at this level. But, he is one of only 3 keepers we have, and was thrown in the team today, as he was last season when he needed games in the reserve team or on loan. You think he shouldn't be starting, fine, who else would've started today then? What I don't like, ppl are holding him personally responsible for the failure of the club to bring in an adequate goalkeeper. He's a young lad, possibly out of his depth, he's one of our own and you have scum in the home end booing him at the start of the second half..
