Huddersfield Town’s home 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday, 3 April 2021 was a valuable point, grafted out. No doubt, this was a poor watch for the neutral but this was a day for hard work to secure a point against a better side and not a day to show off our fancy skills. Lewis O’Brien rightly got the Man of the Match award for a hard running display on top of his well-taken goal. Richard Keogh also caught the eye for three commanding defensive headers.
The Terriers have now gone five games unbeaten. Following this result, Town go into the next round of Championship fixtures still 18th in the division with 43 points from 38 games. Though we are now eight points above the relegation positions, Rotherham United, in 22nd place, have three matches in hand.
On Tuesday, 6 April 2021, KO 19:45, we continue our league campaign away at Norwich City. This match will be the featured game on the Sky Sports Football channel but it is not being shown on iFollow at all. The referee selected for this match is Jarred Gillett.
This is not a frequent fixture and, notwithstanding winning on our last visit, Huddersfield have a very poor recent history at Carrow Road, with a 1-2-6 record, in the league, since 1987. Our last away clash was on 16 December 2016 when we won 2-1, under David Wagner. All the goals came in the first period, when Town were much the better team, and Elias Kachunga’s brace secured the points. Norwich, despite having a strong second period, didn’t take their chances and the Terriers saw out the match.
We last played the Norfolk outfit, in the reverse encounter, on 12 September 2020 when we lost 1-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium. The game looked destined to finish goalless before Richard Stearman's under-hit back pass, in the 80th minute, was intercepted by Teemu Pukki to slide the ball across for Adam Idah to slam home.
Norwich finished last season in 20th place in the Premier League, 14 points off safety. This term they exited the Carabao Cup at the first time of asking, losing 3-1 at Luton Town. Norwich were beaten in the FA Cup 4th Round, at Barnsley, having previously eliminated Coventry City. Following their 1-1 draw at Preston North End, on 2 April, the Canaries are now six points clear at the top of the Championship with 84 points from their 39 fixtures. My suspicion is that we will be well and truly outclassed with the only question being the margin of the home win. Man to Watch: Teemu Pukki (shirt 22), 31, striker, who the Canaries picked up, on a free, in June 2018. Since then, the Finnish international has scored 62 goals in 113 league appearances. Pukki scored ten goals in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers to help Finland to qualify for the first major tournament in their history.
Latest PP odds:
Town: 7/1 Draw: 15/4 Norwich: 1/3
For anyone who feels optimistic, the Double Chance, Draw or Huddersfield, looks fair value at 21/10.

After my unusually correct prediction of the Town v Brentford game I am going to surprise Town fans with my prediction that we are going to see an unlikely 0-1 away win for the Terriers at Carrow Road . UTT.

I also have a feeling we might do well here, but this match is a free hit and anything above zero points will be a definite bonus.

Every time there is a Norwich thread it always reminds me of the time Duncan Shearer scored at Norwich, scored at the opposite end to us, we were in the corner and couldn’t see a thing, we only knew he scored when he ran closer to us with his arm in the air.

Can see us putting in a spirited performance but ultimately they will have too much for us.
Although we won at Carrow Road last time out (also on sky) it feels like one of the grounds we generally take a hammering at.
I’d take a narrow loss without any injuries or suspensions ahead of a big match against Rotherham.

To be honest we matched them in the reverse fixture. A bit more attention from the ref and the backpass that led to their goal wouldn't have happened one way or another.
We can beat anyone on our day but I'd be delighted with another point to be honest even if it means chucking another lead away.

Referee gives me no optimism. Norwich not had a penalty recently they are due another one. Can see the cheat Cantwell tripping over his own feet and getting one.

A lot of Norwich fans are saying buendia might not play if he doesn't that's massive but we play vallejo at the back and press them we might nick something but I'll take a draw all day long

You could be right there now you come to mention it, because of the poor view we didnt know he`d scored until he put his arms in the air, then 40 a day Kevin Drinkell scored a late eaqualizer to earn a replay....which they won 4-2 after we actually took the lead.

Have you been in a coma in 2021? were you in a coma when we beat Swansea 4-1 last month when they'd previously conceded an average of one goal every 2-3 games all season? or for the reverse fixture? or the Watford home game? We routinely show we can break down just about any team in the league, usually within the first 15 minutes of the game. It's holding onto the result that's the problem along with naive performances against crap defensive teams.

I once went to Norwich and they panned us 5-0, think it was an Easter Monday as well.

I'm also sure I went on another Easter Monday for a 2-0 defeat.

Look, they are runaway Leaders. The best by some distance (in a division so shit this year that they didn’t even have to break sweat to win it).
We can expect to lose this and I am more looking at how we Play rather than necessarily the result, mind you it’s Town, we go there and win then Rotherham score 4 at the weekend at our place.
Neither would surprise me this season to be honest.

Made a long trip there on a Tuesday early in Wagners days, it was a tasty 0-2 (or was it 1-2), cant remember, but it was a lot better than the year before when we fucked off to Nandos at 4-0 after 70 mins. I still dont know the final score.

Another half arseed rule arbitrarily imposed by Sky, Now TV owners. I do see though that Now TV has a 7 day free trial but do not think it works with SkySports. From Town website This is due to the fact that the broadcast arrangement between the EFL and Sky Sports does not consider this fixture a ‘scheduled weekend game’ - as it was due to take place on Easter Monday – and now that it has been selected for live broadcast by Sky Sports. What has scheduled weekend got to do with it? Its bloody midweek and was always planned as such so where is the reasoning there? Bew plenty of free links anyway so F off Sky.

Because it being on a bank holiday Monday means it's not classed as a weekend game. It's also not a scheduled midweek round. It's a bank holiday round. Same as in the PL where they have bank holiday TV packages for broadcasters to bid for, that don't come under the weekend or midweek packs.
Be grateful it's on Sky otherwise nobody would be able to see it (barring searching for a free stream), same as on a normal weekend when we're away.
Anyway, in terms of the game itself, I'd absolutely snap your hand off if you offered me a point in this game. We have nothing to lose as nobody will expect anything other than a comfortable home win.
