They’ll probably be ok when the accounts are resubmitted. They appear to have “found” an extra 30 million profit from selling their ground, I guess it must have been lodged down the back of the sofa.

Wow, Derby really must be the property "hot spot" of the world, never mind just England. I think most people are of the opinion now that they will get around FFP and any points deduction by changing their finances to suit their needs.

It gets more farcical by the day
They'll have bought it back for a quid and sold it again for 80 million in 12 months time

There was no way they were going to start next season in lg1. Now its looking like they might not even get docked points before the end of it. I don't think they will have much of a squad to play with though so hopefully no big threat to us.

If I was in anyway associated with Wycombe I'd feel thoroughly turned over.
Here's hoping we can take advantage in a few weeks.

Confirmation from Kieran Maguire which EFL clubs are currently under some sort of scrutiny/embargo etc.

So they have failed to produce Audited Accounts to the EFL, failed to provide Audited Accounts to Companies House, failed to pay HMRC on time, failed to pay instalments on transfer fees on time, failed to produce a Profitability & Sustainability statement to the EFL. And I guess once again there will be no points deduction as its, well, a big club I guess!

Good. They're another club that always seem to be bringing players in left right and centre, and seemingly on big fees/wages. And yes, I'd guess that the Sala transaction will be at the root of this.

They argued that the accounts hadn't been published because keeping them out of the public eye was part of the deal they were doing with the original buyers. Wouldn't have thought that would stop them sending to Companies House though as surely that is a legal requirement?

Derby given 3 points penalty that will be activated if they fail to pay their players anytime before 30th June 2022. Wendies given a 6 point penalty with the same provisos.
I assume that is if they fail to make payments in full just the once. No idea what the penalties would be if they failed to pay more often than that, and it’s not clear when the penalties would be imposed if necessary.
Twitter link on the Derby forum.

Yes, I understand that they had to resolve the non-payments SO FAR in order to avoid an immediate points penalty, but my understanding is that these are new suspended penalties that will be imposed if there are any future instances of non-payment of salaries anytime over the next 12 months.

Here's the BBC report on it. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57785793Also, I'm sure that everyone is aware, but I'll just reiterate the sheer coincidence that we play both of these as-bent-as-a-nine-bob-bit clubs in our first two games of the season.

Looks like they might sign Stearman so gives an indication the restrictions they may be under.

To be honest I am now getting fed up with these 2 clubs pretty much breaching rules as and when they feel fit. The only consolation is that the eventual 6 point deduction for Wednesday did work in the end as a punishment.

It was my thought that having to re do their last three years accounts strictly in accordance with the efl rules would totally stuff Derby. It can't be any other way can it. Whether this revision is then allowed to include retrospective account adjustments is a grey one, assuming of course it can be justified and complies with efl rules. I got the feeling the efl were pissed off with the independent judgement but this redoing of the accounts was a way of getting at Derby. I'll be watching with interest because we all know three years losses over the threshold means big trouble.

I agree I think the EFL really want to make a serious example of Derby. Not only to punish them but to send a message to others that rules are rules. Given the way Derby devalued their players I would have thought their losses will be significantly higher than previously quoted. I suspect the EFL know this and that is why they are asking them to resubmit and punish accordingly. I am no great fan of the EFL but it must be difficult to punish clubs like Derby who appear to cover things up in a complicated way to avoid punishment.

Derby have finally released some season ticket information - well almost. It seems unlikely that they will be selling any before the start of the season! Using the pandemic and the threat of reduced crowd numbers as a reason for not putting them on sale. 8,000 are entitled to a free one this year as they had one last year (part of the sweetener for not taking a refund last year) and they say that if capacities are reduced they wouldn't be able to let any more in than that 8k. Those people can go online and get a free match ticket until such time as season tickets do go on sale. Not sure why they can't just issue full tickets for these 8k and then worry about the others later.
Doesn't bode well for us getting ticket information for the opening day.
