Bullock & Jock Morrison beat folk to a pulp whilst on the piss. Fuck knows what Jepson got up to in his youth. One Town player assaulted a female paramedic whist drunk. 3 are thought off as legends. Keogh is a passenger in a car crash and he’s the devil incarnate. There aren’t half some hypocritical twats on here. Fuck off , he was the captain , he led by example . The example to set was take the keys off the young lads. Not get in the car . You self righteous are holes have never had life devastated by drunk driving . It is not trivial . Have you lived your whole life without ever making a mistake?

I can see and appreciate both sides in this argument. Drink driving is a heinous crime with absolutely no winners. I know he wasn’t driving but he was the senior pro and captain and he demonstrated woeful judgement on that night. Saying that, he has fought his way back and rebuilt his career. That takes commitment and fortitude and I bet he has learnt an awful lot about himself on this ‘journey’. (Soz for using that ‘journey’ word!) Life’s short and we have to forgive and forget. We definitely, and I include myself in this, have to stop judging people from afar. We don’t know Keogh and we do not know how this ‘role’ might pan out. Good luck to him if it comes to fruition.

At the time there was talk that it was more than just alcohol and that Keogh in his position as captain should have done far more to prevent what happened rather than seemingly encouraging it.
Perhaps it was all bollox and an honest mistake. Seems highly thought of at the club which suggests most of it was probably bollox

As long as he's nowhere near the team next season I couldn't give a shite what role he has, to be honest.

If he promises never again to run really, really quickly forward and then stop dead, go round in circles before losing the ball or just running all the way back again, he can stay.

It was rubbish, the Streets Have No Names.

Hopefully that will mean he can work for next to nowt next year considering he's got well over £1m in his sky rocket. Now town only need 2 solid centre backs, 2 or 3 midfielders for different systems on different days, a striker or 2 and possibly cover at full back on both sides.

Don't see the point in wasting wages on a cheerleader.
He won't be staying on for peanuts. We may as well have someone who's dropped out of the game, learned mentoring and then come back into the game on sensible working man money.

I don't know if anybody noticed, but at the end of a lot of the games I have forced myself to endure this calendar year, you always see Keogh talking seriously / laughing / bantering with opposing players and the officials, as though they are all best mates
Most players just give a perfunctory greeting and a handshake, and maybe have a conversation with a current or past team mate.
If I am being honest, it did annoy me a little that he can be laughing and joking after the turgid dross I had sat through.
However, I guess that personality trait will be useful as a coach / mentor type.

Agree everyone deserves a second chance. The first time he was at town he was a too slow useless footballer, so we gave him a second chance, guess what!!!

Made loads , i,m not a mentor some people who make bad mistakes in life turn out to be the best mentors of all Lets have it right though, Town could have employed Michael Barrymore as a mentor to the young lads and you would have put a positive spin on it.

I like Keogh and think he’s done okay with us. Nothing spectacular. I certainly prefer him over Sarr. In a decent side he’d probably do better. He made one mistake at Derby - the only one of similar nature throughout his entire career - and they tried to shaft him. This was about money not morals. As a bench warmer and coach, he’ll do a job for Town.

Have to agree - never a massive fan - quite limited and age makes him slower but to be fair I can't fault his effort and attitude since he came to us this season. Not up to Championship standard but there are a lot of other wasters at Town, presumably on a lot more money, who haven't shown anything like the same application and effort.

A bit like Campbell its not about the money more about bowing out with abit of dignity.

Are we running in conjunction with the governments Care promise? Roll up, roll up, any knackered, clapped out footballers in need of sheltered housing and a pension fund with all medical bills paid?

Keogh & Campbell are not good enough to be regular starters in a side looking to get promoted from this division. Nor were Hudson & Whitehead in 2016/17.
Talk about "cheerleaders" all you want, and if these 2 have had their contracts renewed with a view to starting the majority of games next season then fair enough, we have a problem. But as experienced old heads in the squad, cover/competition for places I can't see why people are so upset.
One of the issues we had last season was how thin the squad is. These 2 going from 1st choice to cover makes sense against that backdrop.

Looool I cant see bromby having the same contact book as Stuart Webber. That was the mistake DH made. Giving him all the money we paid for all those shit players to live however he wanted would be worth literally it's weight in gold. How did Norwich manage to offer him more money than town when we were in the PL?

Spent a day training with Mansfield earlier this week. Trying to find himself a club - thought he was good behind the scenes at Town and we were considering keeping him; obviously not the case and he’s now been properly released.
