Spent a day training with Mansfield earlier this week. Trying to find himself a club - thought he was good behind the scenes at Town and we were considering keeping him; obviously not the case and he’s now been properly released. Apparently was going to stay for a few days to help Clough out, but is in talks with a club now - presumably not us.

From a purely playing side I can't say as I'm at all bothered about this. Did better for us than I expected (caveat - my expectations were not high) but I'd rather see Pearson, Colvill, Sarr, REG, Crichlow, Vallejo & possibly Olagunju in the side ahead of him.
The concern is for his value as a mentor, although we have experienced leaders in the squad in the form of Hogg & Campbell, Pearson seems to be a leader, Nicholls a good dressing room presence so all in all I question whether he's necessarily a great loss.

Having said that, I thought Graham Mitchell looked composed on his debut away at Palace one Tuesday night in September. The mists of time may show it wasn’t his debut, icba to check, but it was definitely the first time I saw him.

Thank goodness for that. I hadn't realised they were short of clowns at the circus.

I guess Bromby will be caretaker manager in his own then 😉
Thank goodness. It was a bizarre offer - felt like we didn’t want him to play (correct) but wanted him to stay as we have zero faith in our coaching staff to mentor players (I can see why) and tried to fix it via a bizarre solution of keeping an old centre half

Not too keen on the anti-Keogh posts.
We will never know but I suspect he had a bigger part on and off the pitch than we realise in terms of securing Chanpionship football for another season.

Unless anybody is claiming to be ITK, posters seem to be basing their opinions on his suitability as a coach/mentor based on his recent playing ability or an incident at Derby. The former is irrelevant and you have to make your own view on the subject of rehabilitation/ostracising/lessons learnt for the latter. The only comment I have to make on his suitability was observing how he frequently seemed to be talking to team mates / opposition players / officials after many of the games on iPlayer. But water under the bridge now.

Interesting that Derby sacked Keogh for gross misconduct - and have just appointed Tom Lawrence as the new club captain.

But water under the bridge now. There's a reason why ex-addicts are used on drug rehabilitation programmes... Sometimes the best people to offer advice are the ones who fucked up & came back from it. May well have proved to be a good mentor. I'm puzzled as to why he's gone to Blackpool though. He's not likely to get playing time above Lg2 any more & they're not likely to be paid as much as we would. Maybe there's a better coaching option available to him there than there was here.

He filled in and did a job. Nothing great, nothing as bad as made out. Not sure why any animosity

Did an adequate job for Town when he came - never the most skilful etc of players but put a lot more effort in than many of our multi-million poundwastes of space and didn't let us down.
No complaints - good luck to him.

Good luck to him. Hope he has a good year at Blackpool, did a job for us, steady player, was a good player in his pomp. He gave his all in the games he played. As a footballer, solid pro.

Although you would struggle to question Keoghs effort he was, in my opinion, well below the standard of the Championship.
You have to respect his desire to keep playing but I hope Bromby and Co weren't disappointed by his choice.
