So, since Saturday, the rumour of Toffolo leaving has cranked up.
But does anyone actually know which clubs are in for him? Norwich showed interest about a month ago, and Portsmouth were never realistically going to sign him.
Any ideas?

He’s not going anywhere He is if we don't sort his contract out - it's getting a bit worrying the length of time this is taking. It can't be a coincidence that his drop in form has come with the lack of a new contract - especially after he came out and said how he and his family felt so at home and happy in the area. He's looked more like the old Toffolo in the last couple of games so hopefully an announcement is imminent. Really important player for us and a great character.

Strong in the air, real threat going forward - even filled in at centre half at the end yesterday. Really top character for the dressing room too - a great example for the younger lads.

Toffolo wouldn't look out of place in a Premier League team. Good player and seems a character.

Toffolo is no way near a Premier League player, Pipa and Toffolo are good attacking players but both are poor defensively .imo.

Think a back 5 of Pipa Pearson Lees Colwill Toffolo With Hogg and LOB sitting in front would give the wing backs great autonomy to push on. Then from an attacking perspective you’ve a wealth of options: Holmes Sinani Thomas Koroma Grant Ward Rhodes Campbell

I think with Pipa and Hogg back he might be tempted go back to his preferred formation from the start of last season 4-3-3
Something like
Nicholls Pipa Pearson Colwill Toffolo Hogg Holmes O’Brien Thomas Ward Sinani
Loads of different permutations of the above though, with Lees, Koroma, Rhodes alternatives and Holmes, Sinani, Ward etc. capable of playing in a variety of or interchangeable roles.

Has there been any news on a contract extension or are we resigned to losing him on a free?
He seems happy here.

We have the option to extend his contract for a year, so even if an agreement can't be reached before June I'd be amazed if we didn't at least extend the deal. www.htafc.com/news/2020/january/transfer-harry-toffolo-signed-from-lincoln-city/Admittedly concerning though that there's not been any announcement re a new contract. Ruffels is a decent 2nd choice & arguably competition for his place but HT leaving would be a loss.

It would be interesting to hear from any B Team watchers ( joburgjon , bobrobterrier ?) as to whether they think Ben Jackson could make the step up to 1st team level next season as back up to Ruffels. Admittedly I'd like to see more of Ruffels before advocating that potential scenario, but it could influence the club's approach to the Toffolo situation - ie trigger the optional year and sell, or let him walk in Summer 2023 (assuming they can't agree a new deal). Hopefully something can be sorted out: alongside the quality of coaching, our turnaround this year has been down to filling the squad with good men, and he's very much at the forefront of that.

I'm not having a rant here, I love toff, the passion he has towards the club and fans is amazing but he obviously wants more money which he deserves but we should of put a contract out for him after January but footballers love money more than the club/fans🤷♂️. As well I think sell him and get the money as well as the pipa money and get some quality players through that door
