The thing is, without evidence nothing gets amended or added. I have several press and team photographs from around that period and can find no examples of 'Star', nor can I ever recall it. Edit: hang on... Do you mean this kit?
It's 1985/86 and looks like it could be a white star on the blue stripe. You could be right then.... You know, just once, instead of being pompous and posting that head butting emoji, you could admit you were wrong and say sorry. 'Huddersfield Town in the Past PLC' doesn't exclusively belong to you. You don't know it all. And minor spelling mistakes don't matter - this ain't the TES. Whoa, hold your horses. I've said that it looks like he's right; I'm not disputing it at all. All I'm saying is that photographic evidence is always key, and it seems that we do indeed have it. And that photo has been in my collection for a while, so I have missed it for all this time. However, sometimes it just takes someone to point out a memory before things 'appear' or click into place. I'll look into 'Star' shirt manufacturers now...

I've always disregarded this photo in respect of kit manufacturers because the most obvious one is worn by Lee Martin, seated dead centre. He's in a Bukta shirt, but now that I look closely it is obviously an old shirt as it has the old 'DAIHATSU' logo. I had always presumed that the rest of the shirts were Bukta with an updated Daihatsu logo, but clearly I'm wrong. Thanks for pointing it out; I will alert my contact the HFK website and get it updated. NB There are several other examples of team groups on my website where players are wearing a mix of new and older shirts; it usually points to the fact that sometimes only fifteen or sixteen or so first team shirts were ever bought in, so larger team squad photographs feature youngsters or perhaps fringe players in older shirts.

I'm still annoyed at how much the shit ruins any shirt - this one in particular which looks great apart from that.

Yeah, agree about the badge but I don't like black (or any other colours other than blue & white) stripes on the shirt

This is by no means a criticism of your input, but the next time you speak with to them about the HTAFC section can you ask them to amend the manufacturer for either 84/85 and/or 85/86 as i'm sure at least one of these kits was manufactured by 'Star' not 'Bukta'? (perhaps someone else can remember more accurately)? The thing is, without evidence nothing gets amended or added. I have several press and team photographs from around that period and can find no examples of 'Star', nor can I ever recall it. Edit: hang on... Do you mean this kit?

Can anyone point me in the direction of Star Sports kit manufacturers? I'm drawing a blank across the internet. Would be nice if we could find a link to the company...

They were from Wakefield. Definitely called Star. Agree, I was in Ossett at the time, I’m sure Star were based in Wakey. I wouldn’t bet on it but seem to think they weren’t far from the centre, near the Double 2 shirt sign on the bridge ?

OK, I've done my bit - I've submitted details for the Star Sports/Sportswear shirt of 1985/86 to HFK. 👍 Meanwhile, back with this photo... Can anyone name the apprentices seated at the front? I have Mitchell, Trevitt, , Martin, , ,

I’ve got the yellow away kit from that season but it is in a storage unit somewhere. Will try to check it out when I next pop down to the storage unit.

I bought the away kit that season too Much better quality than the modern shirts and it had a fleece lining I leant it to my sister so one of her kids could wear it while watching us play Reading at Wembley and haven't seen it since I best give her a ring

You missed off the bit where you tell me that you want me to have it at a fraction of that price! Lucky I can read between the lines. DM me and we’ll sort it out. 😉
