It’s a fair point, but I still don’t see the value myself. Contrast to O’Brien, who is in the top three players on the pitch in every game I see. You can definitely see him making it, even if there’s still a few areas for improvement. Thomas has put a couple of half-decent dead balls in when I’ve seen him, but not much else to be honest. As I said, probably not seen enough of him, but not overly impressed so far. Agreed. We have 2 players at the club who look Premier league ability - O’Brien and Colwill. No-one else close at the moment. Mipo too

Anyone else think about Mounie and get sad whenever Sorba Thomas is mentioned?
“Imagine if we had Mounie on the end of Sorba’s deliveries..”

Anyone else think about Mounie and get sad whenever Sorba Thomas is mentioned? “Imagine if we had Mounie on the end of Sorba’s deliveries..” Constantly. He’d be in double figures by now this season. And the ground would be reverberating to the sound of “Mounie, Mounie “ !!

Anyone else think about Mounie and get sad whenever Sorba Thomas is mentioned? “Imagine if we had Mounie on the end of Sorba’s deliveries..” No - almost never. He’d be on his heels having failed to be alert to anything around him. He might get double figures in a whole season but Danny Ward may do so and actually (unbelievably) offers more off the ball.

Mounié stopped making those runs into the box when we changed our style of play in PL. If he knows balls are going to be swung into the box regularly, then he would make those runs. Lad got fed up of making runs and nothing coming in. Think he would have done well this season for us. Equally though, don't disagree with your point about Danny Ward in that he offers us so much more all round. Would argue that he has been one of our best and most consostent players this season as well

Can’t believe the hype over this lad.. Every game I’ve been to he’s beeen bang average.. Nice haircut and all that.. Needs to knuckle down and put a shift in.. £10million?? Yes please.. Where do we sign?? 🍻 Needs to put a shift in? really? The one thing you can't level at him is a lack of effort.

It is a strange season for Sorba. He did really well early on and got the plaudits but his form has dropped. Whether he has been told to play deeper, or other players miss his runs, or he is just having a rough patch, or opposition mark him more, he is a very good and exciting prospect. He has very little behind him to support his runs, none of the centre backs, except occasionally Colwill, hit passes into the space in front of him. Sinani is improving but there is not much link play between him and Sorba. O'Brien nearly always goes left so he looks isolated at times.
Quicker movement through midfield, I think, would help him. When we do break quickly we look dangerous, as Sorba's cross for Danny Ward's goal last week showed, but we need to do more of that to get the best out of him.

Think Sorba's downturn in form us probably predictable and has a few elements to it. He's still not that long out of non league. Teams are much more aware of him. He also probably does have to do more of the dirty work than he would if he was playing further forward. He'll come good again.
As for Mounie I think there's those that think of the price tag and those that don't. If he had been a free transfer (or especially come through the academy) he'd be much more highly rated. The price tag as with every player has nothing to do with them yet they get judged on it.

£10m plus Sir Elton John in part exchange Watford probably need a new Rocket Man. With Pipa & Rowe about to come back into the reckoning, I reckon we could "Sacrifice" Sorba Thomas at RWB for the right price.

While I've been more than disappointed with Sorbas play since he got called up he still keeps getting assists and can, usually, cross a ball. All I can remember of Pipa is him diving or coming in onto his left foot and shooting and I've rarely seen Rowe take a full back on and get a dangerous cross in so I'm not convinced we'd be better with either of them going forward and all 3 are hopeless defensively 🤔

Just before his first goal I said that he had been disappointing again. He had seen loads of the ball and not done much with it although it was a great ball in for Rhodes. Made me eat my words in the next 5 minutes
